Blog Entries: 1 | watchya peeps so i'm gettin some requests/threats for a guide to how i did the runes on my space wolf rune priest, so here it is ![]() this i pretty simple GS work compared to some of the other stuff you can get upto with it so anyone can give it a go and the method might come in handy in other areas too. start off by pushing a blob of GS onto the area you want the rune like so... ![]() it'll help if you rough up the area some if it's a bit too smooth to begin with. GS likes some type of texture to grip onto so give it some or it'll slide right off when you start to push it around. a few simple scores with a knife should do the trick. next step is the planning stage. once the GS has cured for a while (a lesson i still haven't learned properly ) gently sketch out the basic shape of the design. i'm going for a simple R for this guy but you can get a bit more complex if you're brave enough.![]() last thing is to cut along those lines with something sharp, the afore mentioned knife should do the trick nicely but if you plan on using it to sculpt then it'll be forever after a sculpting tool rather than a cutting tool, savvy? carefully scrape away the excess GS, leaving your design in all it's glory. getting the middle bit out is a bit more of a pain but basically the same process.![]() it helps if you have some reference on hand to look at for the design. the space wolf transfer sheet, codex and dwarf army book have some good examples of nordic type runes while the eldar codex/highelf army book have slightly more eldritch flavours (though if you're brave/crazy enough to try those you're a better man than me )anyhu, hope you enjoy/leave me in peace for a while ![]()
