Blog Entries: 4 | This tutorial is one of a multi part guide on building Pre Heresy Terminators. I have Split it up to stop information overload. This section deals with the basics of Heads Tools Required: Plastic Chaso Marine Head-full helm with top knotStep One-Prep the Helmet I have chosen to use Chaos Marine Helms as they are slightly slimmer and the eyes give a better finishing effect (also fluff wise Chaso Marines are wearing Pre Heresy Armour...) Clip the top knot from the helm along with the "ear" pieces and tubes that lead to the front grill. usinga file remove the Chaos Arrow on the top and any mess from the other parts you have removed ![]() ![]() Step Two-Trimming Down. Very carefully, trim the neck, back of the head (taking care not to cut too far forward-better to take too little and file), and the very front of the front grill away ![]() Step Three-Test Fit Check that the head fits far enought back into the Torso, if not trim a little more from the back of the head. ![]() Step Four-Banding Quite simply cut a thin strip of plasticard and glue it along the centre line of the Helm making sure it does not obstruct the eyes! When dry trim any excess plasticard ![]() Step Six-glue in place Simply glue the modded helm in place-making sure it is straight and level. Step Seven- Lower Helm Plate. Cut a piece of Plasticard like the one shown in the picture ![]() Use a paint brush to roll the piece round so it has a natural curl to it-this will make it easier to fit. Then after doing a dry fit (always do a dry fit before gluing) making sure the lower plate does not go to high up on the helm, glue the lower plate across the bottom portion of the helm making sure you tuck the end pieces into the head surround of the torso. ![]() A further tutorial on finishing details will deal with extra pieces like studs/rivets, chaimail/leather straps under the curved armour, curved armour end pieces and other cosmetic details.
