Default Allies

So I was looking threw Army Builder, trying to come up with various lists that I would like to try out. Then I was looking at the ally option, and only saw the option to take a Deathwatch team. Can this be true? With all the Imperial forces out there, why are there no options in Army Builder?

So basically what other forces can I take as allies and what requirements do I have to meet to do so?

well you can take allies, but theyre not in the army builder because its not been updated.

you can take witch hunters and deamon hunter allies in two ways.
one way is your main force is inquisition and you requisition guardsmen, and in that case your mandatory options come from inquisition.
the other way around is that you have inquisition allies and mandatory units come from guard lists. in the witch hunter and deamon hunter codexes are the units you can take. by taking inquisition as allies to another force (guard or marines) you can have 1 HQ, 1 elite, 2 troops, and 1 fast attack (not sure on last two)

To put it simply no.

Although they are coming out with rules for deathwatch, or more or less xenohunters. so they maybe an option in the future.

I have army builder 2, and the version I have has quite a bit of ally options. Weather or not they're legal I have no idea, but for IG allies it has :

Daemonhunters
Witchhunters
Harlequins
kroot mercs
imperial inquisitor vehicles
adeptus arbites,
Ministorum auxillia
citadel journal tanks
assassins

If you have army builder 2 I can send you the file.

everything except for deamon hunters and witch hunters is illegal, because assasins are included in that, inquisitor vehicles (?) and arbites are stormtroopers w/shotguns.

There are already CA rules for the deathwatch kill teams in the CA codex and in a couple of the old WD issues...they work well but am hoping with APOC they will revise and make them better...ie...allowing SW and other non codex chapters to have them...

your tournament legal ally choices;
a) codex: daemonhunters
b) codex: witch hunters
c) 0-1 deathwatch killteam. (rules are in WD305 US or WD306 UK)

opponent's permission only allies;
a) kroot mercenaries
b) anything really! as long you and your opponent both agree and use the general rules for including allies as presented in the 'hunter 'dexes, then there's no reason not to!

all the 'offical' rules for including allies are found in codex: witch hunters. (which is slightly different from the earlier codex: daemonhunters version and thus superceeds it!)
