Default Armoured Company?

im thinking of starting up an armoured company do the rules in imperial armour volume one work with the current 40k rules if so is that best place to start? I have been using an old 2003 WD as inspiration but if i want to get serious and game where should i go for rules and army lists?

I'm sure when they were writing the IAs they knew about the new rulebook.

I could be wrong but didn't IA1 come out after the new rulebook was published?

The rules from IA1 should be fine...unless anyone else out there has any info which proves me wrong.

IA 1 should be fine. There is also a PDF on the website that is likely the same as your 2003 WD. I just want to know if you are sure you want to do an armored company. I've always found the idea to be boring. 1,2,3 ok my turn is over that was all 6 of my models. Your tactical flexibility is gone and I think an armored thrust isn't very well simulated by this game. Reading an Imperial Armor you read about all of these formations that if you do them in the game don't really amount to much.

like alot of the sub list armored company is ment to be a friendly thing for you and your friends like speed freeks and such
it gives you alot of modeling ideas but nothing official
but its lots of fun to try out new things and new models with AI 1 and all those wonderful tanks
plus with the new apocalype coming out an armored company will be more relevant

WO WO WO wo wo Imperial Armour is a must for every great Armoured Company. For one reason Special Rule: Slick Loaders! I mean you pay 10 points more and your tank can fire its ordance twice in one turn!! (though only once per game) But think about it 3 bassies, 6 ordance templates turn one, and thats just from your heavy support.

Seriously think about it.

Nah I always have a Vanquisher as a Command Tank and take an Exterminator as an Ace. The Exterminator is a great tank trust me! And plus the Vanquisher just appears as a Command Tank

The PDF for the AC rules is located on this website somewhere or on the GW site? Im trying to get the most current set of rules / info reguarding an AC list.

you can field stormtroopers and AFSs in AC lists although stormtroopers are still elits. AFS is now a fast attack choice. this can still be armed with heavys and can do a lot to balance out this force with a troop option
