| my point was there used to be a whole range of slug throwing weapons in 40k and now its just the heavy stubber and the auto cannon

Blog Entries: 1 | Really? Tell me more about the old stuff (I've only been playing for around two years, so the "old" stuff facinates me).

| Trooper ![]() | Shotguns used to be used wider aswell. Autoguns, Autopistols Stub Pistol I miss the old weapons to be honest, they should redo the Guard Dex, and give us the old stuff back, like Combi-Weapons

| The Great Wolf ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No...the reaper was a preheresy weapon and when the newer Asscans came out, the loyalists switched to them... As for commonality in IG...depends on the background and fluff for a particular regiment...some specialize in certain types of combat doctrine so it basically depends on their fighting styles as to what types of heavies their support squads use on a regular basis...like the old mordians had a particular fondness for lascannons and mortar squads in their regiments heavy weapons squads...catachans like heavy bolters and autocannons...cadians like heavy bolters and lascannons...just depends on the regiments particular style of killin stuff....

| In an ongoing apocalypse game one auto cannon squad with camoleine cloaks in a ruin survived 2 apoc barrages and 2 vulcan mage bolters attacks and stil had 2 guns left. not to mention they knocked out to chaos dreadnoughts. more than double their points and a lot of wasted enemy fire power is always a winner in my book. Thank the emperor for good rolls and awesome cloaks |

| Your Local Ori Prior ![]() ![]() | They are my favorite Guard Heavy Weapon! They are good at lots of different rolls as anti-light and medium infantry, anti-light to medium tanks, and anti-monster with their high strength! The autocannon is very versatile and I have had great experiences with my old guard army with autocannon and plasma gun infantry squads! They make for a very nice combo!

| auto cannons are the best for defending tanks i take a couple of squads of them to protect my basilisks. other wise i find they cant really live past turn 3 (cause of the guardsmen using them not the guns themselves) |
