IG mutated rat army what??????

here is my army I just compleated -any minor touchups and modifications I decided to make in the next few weeks











please check them out and tell me what you think

Can't see great detail cause of the pictures but they look awesome from what I can make out; an interesting idea that came out well.

the idea developed from a gripe I had with GW. the ratling sniper models suck ass. I thought rat scaven ratling..... so thus was born my ratling rat snipers. later my friend told me except for them I have a really elementry army with no real flair or uniqueness. in my circle of players everyone does something special to there army. one person has a sisters army he hand carved off all of the sisters and replaced them with the sickle and hammer he also printed excerts from the communest manefesto on all of his tanks. annother player fields a "genestealer cult" with custom vhicles he makes himself out of AB resen and catalist. his HQ rides arround in a long purple limmo on dubs with blackout tint on the windows and a baby genestealer hood ornimant. boxed cadians just diden't jive in this circle. my sniper idea thus evolved into a army of mutated rats with the following story to support there place in the game

rideing through space with there army a IG unit spors a M class planet off in the distance with a mining operation in place. further scans show that the ore is being mined by caoss. they deide to wait for night to land on the far side of the planet to aviod detection and plan there attack but this failed the caoss saw the ship and fired chemical weapons at it killing everyone on board with exception of those in stasis. thus the ship crashed in the middle of the northern contenet. the crash took the stasis tubes offline which held the commisar and two offecers. jr and sr....on awakening they realized what was happening and decided to fight but with what army. they also discovered this planet had a unique resource. I entire culture of strong giant primitave rats called the slate. I like to vary the details here a bit but the commisar being all about the preservation of humanity and death to all those who oppose the emperor, told the leader of the slate he had a choice. either fight for us or we'll nuke your world and all the other ones in this solar system for good mesure. further explaining to him if he declined he wouild spend the rest of his days tracking doen any survivors and tearing out there hearts with his power fist and eating it raw. as he placed his fist on the kings chest he aggreed. they where issued guns given a brief lesson on there use(this explains there ****** BS).
hearing about this the impearium sends a few tanks that where collecting dust in storage to assist as they had no avalable regiments to spare. I think this explains everything let me know what you think of the pics and the story.

sorry no need for war but even the most loyal impearial servent must admit that they could have been better done. they sort of look like elves in civil war drag and vietnam rifels.

LOL just teasing ya!! I am making and ENTIRELY ratling IG army. I am doing t ONLY because everyone hates the models (even I did when first drawn to IG) and I can get the models for cheap (because no one wants them!!). This is a funny army and want to be the "laughing stock" because I have a funny army not because I loose every match!!!

so your troops are going to be ratling modles not cadians. no every lasgun in the army is going to be a sniper rifel. if I understand this right what are you going to do about heavy weapons sence ratling modles are metal. and if ratlings are your troops what will you use for ratlings

Yep all troops are ratlings. every model in the army minus vehicles are ratlings. Ratling weapons will count as lasguns and sniper rifle will be converted to look more like sniper rifles. all my heavy weapons, command group and special char will be converted/resculpted as well. My tanks and other vehicles will be converted to be smaller more Ratling sized. Lots of work but the overall feel will be the benefit!!

im done with mine or at least with the part ive been fielding up to this point. although im adding 1 additional AFS 1, 3 squad IP two 3 squad CPs a inquisitor and a callidus assasin our of all of that the inquisitor is going to be the only human model. this is for obvious reasons and also because is I tried to field a rat inquisitor and thought it was ok my friends would make a giant power fist out of tin cans and PVC pipe and slap me with it. although I have a lot to go I am adding the rest slowly starting with the inquisitor then assasin the IP adding a squad to my cuerrent IP then AFS then two CP"S but I can add as I go. yours is a scratch project. big job and with my rat army I know more than anyone (almost) just how big. just what I have up here too 4 months to make working almost every day
