| This has come up on a few occasions, i biult a railyard at my neighbors house upon his suggestion, i figured it would be a good idea so i did so. I then started to think about what the fluff behind it would be...maby an industrial planet....or so on. Do you think that the empire of man still uses railyards and trains? |

| also, don't forget about the battles around the veyveyr rail links during the siege of vervunhive in necropolis! ![]() a rail link and/or terminal themed table would make for a really cool and evocative city fight battle! lots of open, but difficult ground with a few areas of cover like the ticket terminals... cheers!

| someone built something like that were i play. its a ruined train station, with converted hard points and emplacements built with sandbags and peices of trains. the main building is blasted out, built from various bitz and the cities of feath manufactorum. its so cool! the yard itself is criss-crossed with tracks, burnt-out/blasted apart trains. we have a house scenario were an attackers train comes through, and the defenders have to inmmobilize or destroy it. http://www.40kterra.com/forums/showt...=9324#post9324 |

| Sergeant ![]() | O guage would be roughly about right(tho a wee bit small) if you wanted to actually use model trains and such - however, if you have no intention of using them - then definately go for G Scale track, its about 1+3/4 inch gap between the rails and is perfect for that "super heavy industialised" look - such as you would no doubt find in the cargo yards of the 41st millennium. EDIT: as an aside, the easiest GW system to have track for is Epic 40K, simply use Z guage track/trains and your sorted ![]()

| Sergeant ![]() | personally i have G scale track and trains (eventually this will result in a permanent garden railway) and have used both as scenry for 40K and Inquisitor (G scale trains are approx 1/35th scale which is perfect for Inquisitor) And whilst the stuff is generall quite expensive - there is an easy way to make fake track of any size you wish: 1) buy a number of plastic I-beams at the size you wish and to the total length you wish - these are usually found with the plastic tubing in modelling stores. 2) for the sleepers (if you wish any) you simply cut balsa(or any other) wood to the required size, attach at even spacing along the two pieces of I-beam. (for the strongest bond put PVA/woodglue on the wood and superglue on the I-beams) 3) if you find that this isn't rigid enough, then simply attach it to a base. I would suggest using a mixture of course and fine gravel to flock the base. As an aside to the powers that be: perhaps this topic should be moved into the scenery section considering its content?
