OH yea Termies with deep strike and good armor........that ranks right with my first post, raptors with AT weapons.....

termies appear from nowhere and raptors are so damn fast and both flank to get to the softer rear armor

careful planning + wolf scouts + meltas + meltabombs + rear armour = KABOOOOMMM first turn.
thats worked for me 4 times on the first turn. if IG stormies with 2 meltas flank march and careful planning all equipped with melta/krak grenades or just the sarge with meltas

baneblades are not that bad everyone thinks they are but there just a tank and at over 800 points a piece you can get a lot to take them out I recomend lots and lots of lascannons I do not know your codex well but I would think that if you max out 3 squads to be tank hunters (lascannons powerfists and whatever your equivilant is to the meltabombs). deep strike if you can and get at least one of them off the board the first turn, this would give you a sizable advantage the rest of the game.

this would be my advise.
Yeah but lynxrpken they are 500 points now and seeing as the imperial armour books are completely overruled by imperial armour:apocalypse ( that's right even in standard games the rules in there over ride the other imperial armour books) you are going to have a hard time taking them out.

If it was me i would just count it as a shadowsword: A baneblade with a bigger gun and better BS and at cheaper points too

A hint if they ask you if they are allowed to count it as a shadowsword say NO!!

I love shadowswords....

still in my army I can field 2x heavy weapons platoons with 2 squads a piece with a total of 6 lascannons for the same points that + a sqyad of storm troopers with meltabombs and deep strike should take out two bane plades on the first turn. chaos has different units but they have simmilar armorment for anti tank weapons

yea anytime anyone fields something scary try to get them in the rear this is a real game ender here. if I placed my baneblade and someone tried to attack my rear i'de pack up and go home.

Yeah, it probably would, but I don't mind hearing how other armies deal with superheavies. That way when I Chaosize a Baneblade, I'll know what to look out for. Don't think any Necron tactics for beating them have been posted. Anyone wanna chime in? I reguarly face crons, so that would be helpful.

necrons would be a real pain to a baneblade. Auto glance on a 6!!! i cant think of a special way for necrons to destroy a baneblade. They just have to shoot it with gauss weapons

I'm thinking a BB can fire all it's weapons at different targets. Would'nt this make it very had to get behind? Especially if it has infantry support.

However! you do have a serious point. ive seen what happens if anouther battle tank get behind a blade, its not pretty.
however, some strats are: TAU: take broadsides, lost of them, and hammerheads. you've got a str 10 wep, damn bluies!

Guard: just throw men at it. seriously, the more men you throw at it, the more it'll brown its trousers and run away....eventually.

Marines: sneaky ass cann using speeders, or attack bikes with multi-meltas. however be prepared for either attacker's to be blow the hell up by the blade if you dont do something serious to it, or cause a crew shaken result.

true, true. but then again, the bikers would work better at that, as they could hug cover as they advanced. but, its been my personal experiance in Apoc games, that there too much going on for efficent micro, and sometimes things can be missed by people entirely. I've seen you do it with your blade barnet, you yourself have had a few close calls in the games of Apoc on Saturdays. have you not?

and its either been:
a battle cannon shoved up your ass(no pun intended)
or lost of speedy things zipping around, while you've been busy killing off large targets.
OR its had people snipe at it, at range. with very large Tau shaped guns. (however, they havent lived long enough to brag about it.)

the best way i have seen to kill baneblades is with an other super hevey or a titan or something that has a D wepon

Yes, yes, D Class weapons.....Even if you don't frag it in one go, odds are you'll zap it's big gun. two words....TURBO LASERS!!! D class weapon, and non ordnance so no scatter. Couple that with the umm...Surgical Strike (or is it precision strike) and it's plus one modifier, and you will bounce that Baneblade in no time. Of course, remember, superheavies are just BIG vehicles, and take a while to die, but all the same rules apply (ie, meltabombs, melta weapons, etc). I actually zapped a warhound once using nothing but two squads of havocs and 2 squads of raptors. So don't overlook your infantry.

5 wolf scouts + wolf guard + vortex grenade (renamed chuck norris) = two dead titans +skullhammer+one of the titans when it regenertaed structure points becuase ed said so.
