| Each Shot Kills Spam (She never misses) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Okay I got my hands on 6 orgyns and I was thinking about a tact which to my knowledge seems rather possible. Its really simple Im going to mount them in a Chimera and rush them up the line. However it would be the only Chimera that I will use. Any see it a problem that I only use one Chimera? I mean would anyone think that it would be a complete bullet magnet or what? I do have two leman russes in the list and a basilisk so its not the only armour piece on the field however it is the only transport. |

| I wouldn't use a chimera and I wouldn't use 6. 6 Ogryns is a big target and they will draw too much fire. My favorite configuration is just 3 with a Bone'ead. Very easy to hide in or behind terrain, do not attract fire when people have to worry about special weapons in squads and still pack enough punch to fight most units that do not have a power fist. I had these 3 Ogryns roll up a Tau line to get to their precious ethereal by turn 3. They also handle squads of basic Marines with ease. I've done the chimera thing, it just never seems to work out.

| and a 4+ armour save isnt that bad... repels the basic weapons of most races. but advancing from cover to cover is a good tactic for close combat sloggers. thats how i use my genestealers. even though they have fleet, takes a while to get from one edge to another. 'stealers are another great fire magnet also. cover saves are awsome. |

| The Bone'ead can't take equipment. I'm not sure about carapace or not, though I've never used it. Against a savvy opponent they might get shot up, the only person who ever notices the threat of them is my arch-nemesis. What keeps them safe is their low target prority in your opponents mind and the cover hopping. 6 brings their threat way up and so by the time you reach the lines you'll be lucky to have 3 in the end anyway. I call the 3 ogryn thing my "Sneaky Ogryns" tactic. I just find it really easy to make back their 85 points in nearly every game.

| If i was you i would use around 4, Yes the 4+ is good, But not the best, ogryns are good in my opinion BecauseThey soak up fire, and there numerous amounts of wounds allow them to take alot of em, allowing you to position a las cannon in a key spot, or move some infantry across a road. ![]() ![]() |

| Firstly, Ogryns cannot take Carapace Armour. Only Infantry squads and Rough Riders are able to use that Doctrine. Ogryns are good in combat, and are good scoring units as well. Using only 4 is to waste their potential. Two Chimeras with 6 Ogryns in each is dangerous. But there are many more dangerous tanks to soak up enemy fire than a puny Chimera. Every time where my opponents have had the choice between the Chimeras and a Leman Russ, they have gone for the Russ almost every time. Another great tactic is to use them together with Conscripts. 40-50 Conscripts with a Commissar+PF with 6 Ogryns on each flank, cruising across the table. It is everalsting fun looking at my opponents face. XD But Ogryns in themselves are an underrated unit. This has mostly been because of the high price and crappy models we have at the moment. And the new ones look terrible as well! They are also in metal. ![]() What I have done is to buy two boxes of Ogre Kingdoms Bulls and convert them using greenstuff and Ork bits. | I just can't hide my outrage on the bashing of the ogryn models. To every man his own but still, grrr... to me they are still great models far more appropriate than the ogre plastics. So that I'm not ranting your tactics seem too eggs in one basket for me. Too many points in ogryns that will just be autokilled and the conscript platoon gamble is just too predictable. I do like the idea of completely surpising an unexpecting player into a serious close combat with an army not meant for it. Man I love my ogryn models and havent seen a good replacement yet. I just don't by into newer is better here.

| Each Shot Kills Spam (She never misses) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yea the models are rather... lame... I mean Im sure that they will be coming out with new models the only problem is that not too many people use them. Infact playing guard for 5 years, last night was my first time ever using them! And boy did they punch out those Dark Eldar. I had a squad of about 5 but I thinkt he real ticket is 7 or 8 |

| i use a solid 9 with a bone head. yeah it sounds like a point sink but that just gives the squad more cushion to when you get up close with rapid fire happy alians shootin at you. they have never died and have killed almost 4 times their points in one game

Blog Entries: 1 | yeah 10 gryns is about the same pts as a fair sized platoon and as many $£s as an army deal! lets hope the plastic ones are cheaper.
