Blog Entries: 1  |  Griplion's paint comp entry hey all, as i mentioned a few weeks ago i'm entering a model to the paint comp that was given to me by a buddy who just got shipped out back to europe and then to iraq in the army.  more to come soon.

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Griplion's paint comp entry based and 1st coat on the armor. i got lucky on this as when i went to take the familiar off the base (my buddy gave me the model fully assembled) the right arm and tabard came off so i can paint them seperately and have easier access to the torso!!!! yess!!!

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Griplion's paint comp entry @ erus - actually its folk art paint #666 metallic antique copper. and since i'm doing chaos the # works good even before i realized what it was. the copper did turn out better with the blue than i expected. i was going to use the copper as a base for gold but i'm very tempted to leave it.....hmm i'll have to mix up some gold and see if i can darken it a bit. the ab gold i have is too bright at times. that or i'll have to break down and go buy some gw gold......  @hairy - thanks hairy. i'm trying to work on my skills so i've been reading up on some of the tuts folks have been doing in the painting section. especially nano's rants!!! last thing i need is to compete against him and have him swinging his stick or baseball bat in my general direction for doing my paints too thick!  ah oh well no work on this bad boy today. got a special meeting to go to before work so its not enough time to get anything of note done. perhaps after work......

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Griplion's paint comp entry yeah the local walmart doesnt carry apple barrel (gotta get that at another store). works about the same as apple barrel paints. lots of paint with good pigment for half the price of gw or valejo paints. and its a bottle that you can easily squirt some out of so easy to mix versus having to get a siphon for mixing gw paints.......

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Griplion's paint comp entry yeah since its damn cold in the garage right now i've got a table right behind my comp station so i can just swivel around and work......yeah ok maybe i dont do it that often.....well anyway i look at the old cabinets from our kitchen that i reused when i remodled it couple years ago. and i've got our stash of microwave popcorn sitting right on top of my girls "library" shelf right next to it...... and just so you know mart that is even "movie theater butter" flavor!!!!!!
