|  Seerwych's Proof and WIP sorry for the delay - had a few technical issues! so here is my proof and where i am up to in picture form        so i am nearly there but there are a few problems. in the flesh the model doesn't look anything like as harsh, and the camera is picking up all the faults. i also didn't paint him to look like a skull! what techniques can i use both in painting and for photos to soften it without actually altering the image? in other words how do i make it look on film how it really does? because it really is much better than it looks in these photos! |

Blog Entries: 5   | Re: Seerwych's Proof and WIP and out of nowhere..... amazing. Try putting it on a table near sunlight and not using the flash. it helps bring out the real color. Also, take the picture from the same direction that the light is coming from.

| Re: Seerwych's Proof and WIP Thank you for all your comments, coming from you guys that means a lot! I’ve been looking at all the entries and the standard is amazing. I basically am new to 40k and particularly the Tau so I decided to follow the scheme from the book purely because it is so striking – I tried to copy the runes exactly to keep the theme consistant. You may think the wood effect on the staff odd for the Tau, but I chose to paint it like that as to me it summed up the Tau. Wood is something that naturally combines all the elements: it grows from the earth, water is needed for growth, wood can be used for fuel to produce fire and finally it is the trees which contribute to oxygen which is within the air. I know that the base is much simpler than many of the others, but I decided to keep it like this early on as I didn’t want to distract from the model itself. I hope you like the model and I am grateful for your encouragement – this is only the second model I have put online so it was a bit nerve wracking! That’s about it other than to wish you all the best of luck! |
