|  Alternative IG Tanks Hi, I'm just getting started with an Imperial Guard army, and I'd like to do something different for my tanks (that is, I don't want to use the GW standard kits). Does anyone out there use 1/35 or 1/48 model kits and modify them? I was thinking of using a PzKw III or IV hull, with the LeMan Russ turret and some appropriate modifications. I'm also considering scratchbuilding, making my tanks look like scaled-down Baneblades, but that's a ton of work.... Anyone have any suggestions for me? - brent |

   | Re: Alternative IG Tanks Baron Von Lexus uses alot of different vehicles heres his WIP Thread Link, go threw all the pages he talks about what vehicles there are. Other than that theres a few other guys around here that do the same. But check the link out, hope it helps

| Re: Alternative IG Tanks Yep you got that right I'm here now. There are two pieces of advice i can give you concerning custom vehicles based off of non-GW kits, 1) Just try it out- sometimes you just have to wing it and see what happens 2) Sor scale the best thing to judge by is how big the tank/vehicle is in rela life. Ofr example a Panzer is much smaller than an Abrams, so for the Panzer you could get away with a 1/35 and fit IG fine but the Abrams since it is a bigger tank you should stick to the smaller scale. Also different modelling companies have slightly different scales so be sure to keep that in mind as well. If that made any sense I will be greatly pleased. For a re-wording theres a couple posts in my WIP relating to this. Any more specific questions post them here or PM me and I'll see I cant help you. And if you're looking for some ideas I have a few in my WIP and a few more on the way I'llpo st when I get back from my trip. Hope that helped, BvL
