Final Entry Post for Painting Comp Reminder

Just to remind all FINAL entries need to be made into a new thread:

labeled:

Final Painting Entry: username

at the top if you could include a pic of your proof, or link.

include as many pics as you like, but if at the bottom of your thread can you please write:

Please make any comments in my W.I.P.

This is just to make it easier when it comes to verifying scores!

Also could all people who entered make note that they have to vote on ALL entries except there own, otherwise there scores will not be counted. I will be checking so I will pm people if they have missed one, but if you could keep checking the painting comp forum, that would be most helpful.

PS thanks to everyone who has entered so far, the pics have been great and have made it worthwhile!

You simply score them by replying to the the thread! This is a deterent for tactical voting as everyone can see how people are scoring! (Not that anyone would on here!) Also it gives all entries a bit of spotlight time, which is nice! I think

Nothing has changed really. basically, make a final thread of your finished mini with the above guidelines.

All people who have entered must score all entries except there own in the following areas:

* Colour (how well the colours work to enhance the miniature)
* Base (How well the base contributes to the overall miniature
* Atmosphere (marks are awarded according to how well the miniature fits into it's respective fluff)
* Technique (how well advanced techniques are implemented)
* Overall Skill (marked on how the miniature looks overall)

and thats it. There will be bonus prizes for people outside the top 2:

Best use of Colour
Best Base
Most Atmospheric
The Erus Award of Outstanding effort

...and a shiny banner for the top 2 with a nice dollop of rep points!

Wouldn't be so sure about that Wakim. There may be miniature comps, but as I understand the main comps will be reserved for a yearly basis... to keep them as a more special project.

last thing i knew we were planing on having a rotation of open conversion contest followed by open painting contest (allowing people to enter their conversion into the painting contest; followed by a topic conversion and topic painting contest (for instance: space marine; or ork or whatever). when those are done, we just go through the cycle once more, every month.

It's come from up high so that it can be controlled more. Erus can give a better run down on the plan.

The comps will be done as conversion then painting so that they can be entered for both.

Basically 1 big comp on conversion, painting, fluff and terrain a year. These will earn banners and rep points. Then there will be the possibility for smaller, none rewarded comps throughout the year.

I'm sure Erus will see this and weigh in, for his 2p worth.

i dont think most of us are that bothered about the rep/banners. i see it as a good incentive to model/paint stuff

There will be more smaller comps throughout the year though to provide different challenges.

You should be thinking more about your Lion rider as opposed to competition set ups.

I gotta see that guy finished.

On the 1st of March can you please copy and paste this into the model you are marking and mark out of 10:

Colour
Base
Atmosphere
Technique
Overall Skill

This is what you are looking in each catagory:

1= bad 10= amazing

Please try and stay consistant in your marking. Try and take no notice of who has painted them, just mark the mini at face value.

Remember be kind as well, this is a hobby and we all love what we do, so dont be to harsh! But reward highly for a job well done

Not to thread jack, but no. There will not be more competitions this year. You are not staff, and all comps will need staff approval and oversight. Sorry, but that's how we (the guys who pay the bills and run the place) have decided it is going to be. This is not to say if we haven't planned a comp, it won't be done. But it will need our approval and a general progress report from the organizers. That's not heavy handed or such. It's just keeping things organized.

Continue suggesting such, and you will necessitate further disciplinary measures to curtail your recent actions.

Good call Erus, I think it's important as well so it keeps the integrity of the comps as well. It wouldnt be right if there was suddenly another painting comp in a couple of weeks!

so we have to vote for the 5 criteria for every other entry with a Final thread?

where do we make the votes? are they oublic or PMed? if public, can we add comments etc?

Public, this is to to stop tactial scoring....

and an overall comment is allowed, but keep them kind with any crit delivered in a posetive manner! Plus try and keep them as short as pos!
