minor update:
a little more interior work
i'll point out what i did, it's really miniscule in the grand scheme of the model"

here you see some more extra wiring and mini vox contact on his back. his backpack port will likely get a few more wires in there sometime


some control panel stuff. that circular port in the corner is his life support port basically, and i'll get an actual computer wire to hook him up. there's also the "joystick" control in the bottom corner. it's kinda hard to see here. i'm not sure what to do with his hand yet. [not hands, he's only got one ! lol his left hand is a link to the dreadie itself, slaved to the targeting system]

dreads have taken many forms
look at the venerable dreads they have the helmet popping out
some say that is a sensor mount but is it really?

you should put a piece of colored plastic over that plate to make it look like he in still in the goop

oh one new thing, the piping from his chest to the base of the dreadie. consider it...metabolic systems tubing ? lol

and [da da da!] the completely removable faceplate

i need some GS cleaning up for the parts around the head, and also for the head-guard thingy. but that's what it's supposed to look like, more or less. the yellow tubing won't be visible when painted, of course-that's just cause the plastic sheet i worked with is clear. yikesss

i honestly don't know if i'll have any more time to work, i have late classes [230-430 usually] and so i don't know if i can get anything else done. and so, with a sigh, if i run out of time by the time i get home tomorrow and the contest is already over, let these be my final shots. :[ sadness

so he won't be peeping out from inside through a gap in the faceplate? oh... i really liked that look. still, it does look really good with the fully modelled faceplate so i guess i still like it

lol i kinda was thinkin the whole 'peepin' thing wasn't enough converting, so i tried doing the ven dread "o look ihave a head' thing. hmm...haha

there are a few parts of his conversion that i don't really like [ie, the high kick his dread seems to be performing,lol] but he's got the PEEPING marine idea down pat. i liked the idea of seeing a dude inside playing around, so i took it and made it my own. and there ya have it :]

also, does anyone know where i can upload PDF files so that y'all can look and see ? i've been writing my own datasheets [and not handwriting, mind you , but typing them all out!] and i have one for my buddy cephas here, but i dunno where to upload it :[ boos

Once again, great job R4. I think I prefer the marine peaking out rather than the head outside, but either way it looks great.

yea now that i think about it, i kinda like the peekin out idea, but i am sticking to the external sensor array head thingy cause i like that too, lol i'm torn ! haha
fortunately i have another dread sitting at home, waiting to be converted :P

again, can someone help me out with uploading PDFs? i really want to show y'all cephas' datasheet :]

wakim do you mean like i should have left it so that the insides were visible ? well i didn't glue the top on for exactly that reason, so i could continue displaying the interior :]

and thanks erus ! only one problem, my PDF and almost every other file type i've saved it as is tooooooo big, by at least 3 times the limit ! sighs :[

YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement is a good place. Send the email/attachment of the file to yourself, then copy and paste the download link here! It's only good for 7 days, but, it's the best one I know of./

thanks for all the support guys. i know i could've done better on him but with the amount of school work and normal work i had to do, along with other responsibilities, i did as much as i could :]

sadly i don't think i'll be doing the painting contest. my painting skills are...well...crappy
