Munkey Joe's Painting comp entry!!! - 40K Terra

I am notorius for being indecisive sometimes. I hold true to this painting comp. I have 2 models I want to paint, and one of those is 2 color choices. Here is my problem. I have a Space Wolf Rune preist I want to paint. My wife wants me to paint Capt Tycho. By painting Captain Tycho I have 2 choices. Paint him Gold, as his hundreds of years of service has earned him. OR follow the Fluff (to some extent) and paint him in Black Armor of the Death company from the last battle of Armageddon. So here it is.....You will decide for me!! I am polling this up and all voters will have a chance to seal my fate. Decide if I should paint:
1) Space Wolf Rune Priest

2) Capt Tycho Gold

3) Capt Tycho Black

Rune Priest... only because I play space wolves and I feel we need more space wolf content.

The Tycho model would be great, but you run into issues with fluff on how you paint his armor, etc... He's a touchy subject for BA players usually.

That being said, I suggest the Rune Priest so as to both give you a more open canvas to paint (so many details!!!) and you don't have to worry about someones ideas on fluff of the mini's background affecting your score or such.

i say tycho. we dont need more sw stuff. we've got krom, hairy, erus, wolfpack, and probably a few others on here that i'm forgeting bringing plenty of sw g...o...goo.....gar*cough*bage.ack cant say it.....

bring something different!!!!! but on that terms i dislike the gold tycho so i say black!!

Paint them Both!!!! and then determine which is better. But I voted for DC Tycho b/c hes cool with the black.

I say paint Tycho black with a few gold details. If you're saying that the gold is a mark of his hundreds of years of service, you could use that on the black scheme as awards and armor details and make it look awesome.

hey munky, can I ask a you Quick Question.
why did you use plastic bits rather then the metal axe and plasma pistol that come with the model? i can see why with the pistol, it does look cool, but why the axe, for me at Least that was always the best bit of the model.

its probobly because despite not being a SW player i love thier axes...

@ Cpt Slow- The answer is very simple. I am in the middle of a move and could not find the bits! I wanted to Keep the look of the model but change it up a bit too and that is the bits I could find to replace them. I like it as its a subtle change, and it will be easily overlooked once painted!
