After they were betrayed by the Imperium they seceded but did not turn to chaos. Instead, they renounced all allegiance to anyone but their own gains and honour. During the schism and wrath of the Imperium following their turn, 6 full companies of the soul drinkers were destroyed, though their fleets survived mostly in tact and the surviving marines began rebuilding their chapter. After the chapter stabilized, somewhat, they realised they wanted the Imperium as their allies, not their masters and they began to fight off the enemies of the Imperium in hopes of regaining their allies. This is what brings the Soul Drinkers to Catria Prime. Mending must commence and this will be their perfect chance to regain their honour. None will stand in their way, not even the servants of the Emperor of mankind, from regaining their honour......... Matthias could not help but wonder, as he left the command deck, as to why he was here. This place did not seem to have anything of great worth. It isnt easily defendable and it seems almost pointless to be here. His only consoling thought was that this is where Sarpedon told him to go and this is what he will do. He arrived to find tech Marine Arthas already ready to begin the arming of him and with solemn grace, he entered. ........................... "Ah, comforting relief," Matthias thought as he ran through his firing exercises after donning his armor. It felt good to be in his armor again. It also felt relieveing to feel the kick of his bolter in his hand as he fired at the targets down range with a practiced ease.
