The Story Of Catrian Prim

Catrian Prime is an odd system located on the outer rim of Imperial Space in the Ultima Segmentum. It is a Single Star with a Single Gas Giant that orbits it.

The Gas giant is roughly 4 times the size of jupiter and has a gravitational force that makes life un-sustainable on it's very dense core. However the planet labeled as XYN-4567 is orbited by 2 moons: Catrian Prime and Catrian Secundus.

Catrian Secundus is small and was rendered un-inhabitable almost 300 years ago when an Imperator Titan's Reactor went critical and destroyed most of the moon in the process.

Catrian Prime is about 1/2 the mass of Earth and has little to no differences ecology wise from earth.

What makes Catrian Prime special is not the moon itself, but the fact that XYN-4567 is thought to be in the process of gathering enough energy in itself to become a newborn star. and the energy-siphoning from XYN-4567 has the potential to make whoever holds Catrian Prime enough Energy to power untold machines and create pieces of technology unheard of since the Dark Age of Technology.

And so the races of mortals have decended upon the small moon in an attempt to claim it for themselves or their overseers.

And as the first few weeks pass on the moon of Catrian prime, it has seen many a bloody encounter as the orks have rampaged to an almost unstoppable WAAAAGH! and have even enountered other orks in their wake.

and as time goes by, it seems that the future ahead is grim indeed for catrian prime.

After Series 2

Time has passed as the war torn Moon of Catrian Prime's fate is Fought for. The neigh unsoppable waagh has ground to a startling halt as it appears half of the orks in the system have simply found another target to pursue. The imperials seem to be gaining the upper hand, however a ravening brood of genestealers has forced it's way to notice.

An Armored Spearhead of space marines seems to be almost unstopable as it grinds force after force under it's Iron Treads.

Several of the warbands have recieved intel or have simply discovered a massive Radio Frequency tower that seems to have the ability to override even the advanced comm systems of the Adeptus Astartes. Those armies are currently in a struggle for control of the tower, but what final effect it can have in the outcome of the Catrian system seems neglilgible.

A small chaos warband has been roving across the moon, seemingly without the support of it's foul gods, however in the recent days has seen a few infusions of fresh blood and warp matter. Will this make them a force to be reckoned with?

updated my fluff- I'm glad I invented the Penitent Oath angle as it means that my army can fight and crusade without a need for long explanations

it's what i do. i get paid to play with photoshop. I am however thinking that it needs some clouds.

made the starfield with noise, then added a gaussian blur w/color.

made the planet with a texture and the "spherize" filter.

then just used glows to make it look right.

it was about 20 layers in photoshop.

Steve you are my new best friend!!! And you might actually be my wifes best friend too. I gave her CS2 and she is trying to learn it but last i heard she still curses it!!! I plan on getting CS3 in the future (near) and then its re-learnin time!!
