Default Sisters of Battle Allies

I was wondering if anyone could give me some direction on this. I currently have 2 boxes of sisters, an Inquisitor & retinue box, penitent engine, an arco- flagellants box and a Callidus and Eversor Assasin left over from my room mates sisters army that he never used and I wanted to know what any of you would recommend useing with a 1,850 pt Imperial Guard army. I was thinking Inquisitor Lord w/retinue and a Callidus assasin, but I'm not sure how to kit him and his retinue out (any input about that would be cool to). All advice is welcome!
Thanks!

well, first off keep in mind that;
a) you can't include any allied heavy support choices.
b) to include arcos and/or penitent engines, you *must* include a priest.
so, basically depending on what kind of mood you're in, you're going to want to flip between parent armies in order to use everything!

anyways, as for how to kit out an inquisitor lord... well, rule no.1 about these guys: they absolutely suck in assaults! no, let me repharse that, an inquisitor lord who has authority over any branch of the imperial military is as martially adept as a fething newly-trained guardsman!!!
give him a power toy just to protect himself a bit (as he is an IC!) but forget about kitting him up with all the fancy wargear because odds are he's simply going to die - horribly... for a psychic power/s, scourging is good as it ignores invulnerable saves and hammerhand is a decent assault power...

as for the retinue;
- an acolyte or two are nifty as they effectively give your inq lord extra wounds. give them power armour and just use them as meatshields, pawning high strength and/or ap3 wounds onto them!
- gun servitors. these guys rock! take 3 and give them each a heavy bolter for some serious firepower. i advise against plasma cannons as they still overheat & are generally not as effective due to how blast templates need to be placed over a model... (and most people have the sense to spread out their units!)
- sages. take a pair for the re-roll ability...
- a familiar will give your inq lord the all-important 'I' boost...

sisters... well honestly i've never really used the nuns with guns, but i'd treat them as pure shooty units. again, they only have basic human stats so don't throw them into an assault unless you really, really need to! for special weapons, it's a toss up; lots of big hoards you'll want flamers, otherwise the S8 ap1 of the meltas is tasty!

again, i've never used arcos or penitent engines, but they are obviously assault units so the basic rules for using assaulty troops apply here!

hope this helps,
cheers!

Thanks stitch! your advice is always helpful. I really dont see Arco-flagullants being anything more than a points sink and bullet magnet in an IG army or a sisters army for that matter. The inquisitor set up sounds kinda like the one I had (only mine had a crusader ). Would you (or anyone else) advise taking a callidus assassin? I know this probably isnt the most effective list either but its mostly to help build my own sisters army and flesh out some extra points for my IG so I can play bigger games with them.

no problems, i'm always happy to help out!

don't scoff the arcos as a points sink - they're actually quite nasty as their attacks counts as power weapons & they can move quicker thanks to the stim-injectors... basically they're your suicide/expendable 'uber assault unit!
if the enemy is wearing power armour, they're a great buy. but if you're facing hords of say guardsmen or orks, they're nothing more than expensive over-kill!

as for the callidus, well she's liked by many for her 'word in your ear' ability which can really ruin your opponent's prized unit/tank. (for example, you can move that indirect-firing bassie or defiler out of cover and slag it before it can move back out of sight!)
her phase blade is nice for picking on things like chaplains or daemon princes as it'll get by that annoying invulnerable save too...
other than that, i think she's more a novelty! she can't stand upto even a small enemy unit and once she's taken out her 1st target, you can kiss her good-bye as every gun will turn to point in her general direction!

cheers!
