Well considering that you've already mentioned Battle Damage to me on AIM...
create a simple duel- 2 models that when placed at a certain angle to each other are obviously engaging in combat (probably a bit too much for a weekend challenge I know)

How about a 6"x6" terrain piece. This is a nice small size and shouldn't be too large for a weekend project.

well I haven't chatted on AIM with you but your on to somthing....

1) one on one battle scene- 2 models on a base no bigger than 3X3 fighting
2) build a building- build a building no more than 2 stories high and 6X6
3) race specific paint- paint a race model in a weekend (ork SM eldar....)
4) OBJ comp- like what we just had BUT make it more specific (only a ammo dump or fuel dump)
5) small terrain- build your best crater, barricade, improved bunker in a weekend.

these are just suggestions and can be added to or taken away or just blown off completely. but this is what I think would be cool.
And also with mini comps like this you can have a "master mini comp" once/twice a year combining ALL parts (15-20 projects) into an intergrated battle board. you can use any project you have entered since XX date and can only build one more piece to complete a battle board to play on. But I dont know how well that would work but I think it would be kinda cool too, as now everyone will have more terrain than they know what to do with!!! lol

This is something I discussed with Erus. A way to help us all build something at the end of it.

So say over maybe every other week we have a mini comp that is aimed at a certain part of the project. At the end we can also vote on who has the best and most co-hesive board/unit.

I like the deul specifically because I'm making a monument with deuling statues on the top that I need to work on.

maybe something with vehicles might work as well?

Again, the themed painting leaps to mind, such as painting litanies on armor, crusade badges, or even just painting robes...

For bigger projects maybe we could do it over two weekends or a week? If over two weekends a second proof pic would be nesessary, but it could work?!?

Or of course you could challenge someone to paint a basic marine/eldar model using only two pre-arranged colours (and highlights thereof).

For this one i'd say yes as a project like this will take a small ammount of planning to get the details right.

Ok this weeks project is faces! Simple as that! I will post the entry thread on Thurs so you can take a pic of the yellow text! But any race, any size, just go for it! Remember detail and tidyness is going to win this one so take your time!
