Blog Entries: 1 | I think as we only have three entries this week it would be nicer to just pick best in show! Anyway this has been a really difficult challenge and I commend those who entered, a really good job. i know I have learnt a few things so thank you. Although we didnt get many entries I feel it has been worthwhile because I actulaly think I may give it ago!! | My vote is for grip. Nice job. It is a shame that there were not more people involved with this comp, as we had an extra week to get this one done. These mini comps are a great way to experiment and improve your painting and creativity skills. If you don't try something, you won't find out if you can do it, so @ least give it a try. With that being said I have a question. For everyone that did this comp or wanted to do this comp, "Did you find that the task was too intimidating or too difficult a task. For me, I found it much more intimidating as I never tried before, but as I started I thought it was rather a simple technique that I will be using in the future. Please keep these challenges coming, as they have really aided me in trying new techniques and testing my skills. Well done to Monkey and Grip, for giving this a go. Nice job on the minis as well.

Blog Entries: 1 | Thank you point well made Prince. I myself have been busy with my Eldar tanks so have not been able to enter anything so far this month. If people did find it intimidating, let us know in the suggestion thread and we can address how we can make it better. But everything Prince has said is true, its all about painting outside your comfort zone! thanks

| The Munkey Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well It WAS A TASK!!! I put it off until the last moment I could as I was doing things like yardwork and fieldstone stairs.....It was the first week ok good weather we had. But my vote would be for Prince. His effect is VERY subtle and very fitting for the mini as it would be a small fire to light the lamp. I love the graduation of the color and this is a mini work of art to me!!! Grips effect is a stronger source and well done. but i didnt see much color transition for a Glowing effect. with an effect that strong there would surely be something on the other arm and weapon.

| My vote is split between Grip and Prince. THey are both really nice. Grip got the entire thing down. Every part which could get hit with blue light was done properly. Night has some subtle things done on his. Like the ring of light on the base (nice touch). In this case I will have to vote using a widely use scientific method passed down from generation to generation ... I will flip a coin. The winner is ...... (drum roll) DAMN! I lost my quarter!! It rolled under my desk and I cant find it. This contest just cost me a quarter. Here we go! I had to borrow a nickle from one of my employees. Here is the flip! Grip=heads Night=tails Grip wins! My vote, through proven scientific method, goes to Grip. BTW: I think Munkey's is good, just not as dramatic as Grip and Night.

Blog Entries: 1 | thank you to Mart and Steve for doing these mini comps. i've missed out on the first few but glad i got into this one. i'll definately be keeping a closer eye on this area!! i vote for prince as i really like the feel of his and think he really knocked it out well. i believe all 3 of us did an outstanding job on our models especially as this seems to be a technique that none of us has really had much experience with in the past. bravo!! for me i'd say something like this was just fine for a weekend comp and honestly think more folks should've been able to start and get finished in a weekend as they could've used a model that was already painted but lacked any osl work. thanks all

| they are all good its tuff but im gonna say my vote is for munkey, i think he got it just right the glow isnt to harsh nice and soft. though i would have liked to see the rest of the model a lil more painted so we could realy see the soft effect. i realy like gremlins his aplication is great but i found it a lil to hard. and princes was also well done definatly a tuff one i wanted to give this one a go but it was the wifes bday this weekend and i was busy at work wich is wher i do most of my painting in my off time lol.

| The Munkey Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hum....I think we could SQUEEZE ONE MORE out Mart!!!. EOM isnt until Wed anyway and would be the perfect timing as it finishes the Tale painting comp begins!!! Although I will be painting on the squad and i imagine alot othere will too, so we might not get alot of participation.
