He was fanatical enough that, when the truth of Horus's Heresy was revealed, he created the Inquisition and the Grey Knights. And, on top of that, he was working in the dungeons, Horus was out kicking ass and chewing bubble gum (they were all out of bubblegum), he had to leave it to someone. |

Blog Entries: 2 | Because I love fluff, here we go : ) All taken from "The Horus Heresy: Collected Visions" book. "Malcador the Sigillite--During the conquest of Earth the Emperor gathered about him his most trusted lieutenants and gave to them tasks and duties befitting men of status. Most of these were drawn from the ranks of his bodyguard and Space Marine Legions. Malcador was an exception. He was not a warrior but a man of learning with the bearing of a priest. From the early years of the Battle of Unification he was ever present at the Emperor's side. His origins were unknown to all save perhaps the Emperor. He wore the hooded robes of a simple Terran administrator. Malcador was appointed to run the Emperor's Palace and through it he managed the administration of newly conquered Terra. As the Crusade progressed Malcador's power and influence as he became overseer of the Imperial Tithe and the chief of the Imperial Administration. Blessed with unnaturally long life there were many rumours about the true nature of this enigmatic figure. Some say he was a psyker, the first to have undergone the soul-binding ritual. Other rumours say that he was distantly related to the Emperor." The Emperor trusted Malcador's judgement in all things. When Horus attacked the Palace on Terra, it was Malcador who sat upon the Golden Throne when the Emperor attacked Horus's ship. "'Are you prepared to take the Throne?' 'Of course, my lord. I have always been ready to repay the debt I owe you. Since we first met, my life has always been yours.' 'Thank you old friend. You will be remembered for your sacrifice.'" Before he did though, Malcador presented to the Emperor the 12 space marines who would become the first grey knights. "Malcador's Sacrifice--Malcador the Sigillite ascended to the Golden Throne, replacing the Emperor....Malcador could not speak such was the concentration he had to bring to bear in order to control the tempestuous forces at his call. 'Behold the greatest sacrifice of our age!' The Emperor directed towards the two mighty primarchs. 'Malcador is Sigillite no more. Henceforth he shall always and only ever be Malcador the Hero!' After the battle between Horus and the Emperor, Dorn brought the emp's body back to the Throne. Malcador was dying, only a vestige of his life remaining. "Malcador's husk was carefully disengaged from the complexities of the machine and the Emperor ascended to his Golden Throne once again, this time for eternity. As Malcador was removed the last flicker of life left him. He died and the dust of his corpse blew across the stone floor. At the instant of Malcador's death the Emperor awakened, as if somehow he had been boosted with a powerful salve or medicine. The Emperor still frail and weak, spoke, 'Poor, brave Malcador the Hero. He reserved a fragment of his strength for me. It gives me a little time to pass final orders to you all'..." Thus ends the life of Malcador. Hope this helps!

| Trooper ![]() | Wow... allways wondered what the Sigilite did. I knew that a tank was named after him, and that he was a very important figure...
