| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | wow everyone, this may be some sort of record for me ![]() TWO updates in a day !?? unheard of ! anyways, i started work on the command squad for emery while watching the US version of the office. very funny stuff, though i wouldn't recommend it for conversions because your body starts to shake with laughter. no good for staying still/doing tedious work. anyways, here we go: meltagun man. [1/2] ![]() normal guardsman ![]() scratchbuilt medic ![]() ![]() ![]() the medic still needs some GS stuff. actually all the figures do right now, but the medic needs the most. thoughts ? ideas ? ![]() -ant

Blog Entries: 1 | looking good r4. i'd suggest the more armour idea over the greatcoats one unless you're feeling particularly daring with the GS. they will be a proper bastard to get right and your GS will disappear quicker than a box of donuts in a cop shop ![]() lovin the medic btw. what bits went into the building of the med pack? |

![]() i'm thinking the armored approach is much more feasible, and like you said, easier on my GS supply, which i have yet to locate haha. i think i might need a kasrkin as a model to see where armor should go/what it should look like. as for the medipack, the bits include...random parts from the voxcaster set [as the basis of it], part of the new plastic dev squad SM's plasmacannon backpack, some ammo pouches from the SM plastic sprues, and a knife from the IG squad pack, and a few other random touches, like a trimmed down scroll [ie, for like last rites readings or whatever] and a purity seal. :] -ant

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | okay so i have a little bit of a dilemma. i have quite a few meltaguns in my army, and i need to know if my IG melta man looks awkward at all ? i know the gun is WAAAY huge-r than it should be, but i'm not sure if i should continue making meltas that way, or if i should figure out a way to convert like lasguns into meltaguns ? hmm. actually that might be cool. i shall return with some meltagun-from-lastgun experiments... :]

![]() r4, the melta looks fine to me. the metal melta gunner's weapon looks even more ungainly than your's does and still looks fine it's a big gun and a basic human shouldn't look too comfortable weilding it ![]() | |

for reference, with these IG the only things i've really done other than the pig iron heads is change up the gun, since different homeworlds seem to have different models of las gun. i trimmed off the top sight thingy from the top of the lasgun and cut off the flash suppressor. not a big conversion at all. i also rounded the business end of every gun. only like a 1 minute change for every model, probably less. :] it's not so hard ! ![]() i also used quite a few scout bits, because they're easy to work with [okay, so maybe not THAT easy] haha but they work well with IG and it's easy to tell they fit in the army but stand out as commanders anyways. :] thanks hairy ! now, to order 3 more meltaguns >.> EDIT also, i'm thinking about using this tank for something...maybe as a replacement russ ? or perhaps as a chimera, though it is a bit expensive. thanks to BvL for the tip, though i'm worried about dimensions and such, and whether or not people will let me play with it in game 1/35 German Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.B i think i looked around and saw the lowest listed price was like 32 or so USD. so i guess we'll see :]

| Marshall Arnim Kagori ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | a 1/35 Stug III would be big enough for a Leman Russ, a 1/48 scale though is smaller and I have a comparison for size with a 1/48 one on page 2 or 3 (I think) in my WIP. It's got a low profile so I'd use it as a Tank Destroyer/Assault gun, just like it was originally.

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | thanks for the tips BvL haha. i'll have to consult you some more about kitbashing tamiya stuff. i love how sleek it looks, and i was thinking actually about using it as a chimera. i know, total history blasphemy there, but if i could just swap out the main cannon for a pair of HBs, which my chimeras are all running with. having skimmed a bit of the history i am starting to like the STUG more and more... the history of it is actually really interesting, and the mentioning of stuf crews being really renowned is kind of cool too, since this army is supposed to be mechanized anyways. Sturmgeschütz III - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia tankhunters makes sense too, i'll have to revise the fluff a bit in order to really put the tankhunting history into my own backstory :] BvL, do you ever have a problem with playing with these models ? or do you play with these models ? i don't play in serious tourneys often but i want to be able to both have awesome kitbashed models AND play with them :] thanks all ! -ant

Blog Entries: 6 | the pig iron head on the marshal looks the part, and makes him stand out less, when compaired to the rank and file guardsmen, which is not a bad thing, IMHO you want only your main Commander or HQ unit to really stand out and be the centre point in an army, full of conversions etc or just a slightly snazzyer paint scheme (hint hint), well, thats my opninion at any rate. however, so far you stuff looks very cool, and the choice to mix and match the SM scout stuff was a very good choice, i wish i had thought of it, it might be something i do for my necromunda gang; i do need some seperate stuff to mark gangers out from juves...hhhmm.... anyway, less building, and more painting! i know its a pain to bacth paint (as im doing it right now >_< ; And, It, SUCKS) but i for one, would like to seem some of these guys painted, please? ![]()

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | thanks for all the feedback guys. as you can tell, i am now safe and sound back in the states, and as soon as i get more rested [these last 2 days have been exhausting for our mexico team] i'll try and get some work done. right now i'm looking at working up some GS, i don't know when i'll start painting though. likely end of august to beginning of september, because that's right around the time most people get to school again and i'll have a month more time before ikky and i have to start class once we get to hanging out more i'm sure he'll kick my butt into working harder and faster ! lolhope you're all doing well ! -ant

| bears. beets. BSG. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you know what i hate ? when you write a whole bunch and then you accidentally hit a different website. what the freakin heck. ugh haha. anyways. i know, story of my life is running from hairy and erus' beatsticks and posting pictures often enough to avoid the chopper. but umm lately i've been a bit more busy and such [tryna learn to drive/getting ready for school to start...] so it's been slower. i also haven't bought anything BIG in terms of 40k since last dec. so i converting is getting harder and harder for me, since i don't have as much to work with >.> haha. but it's nice too cause it makes me flex my conversion muscles, working more with nothing. my IG army runs a commisar with 20 conscripts, and since i didn't have much in the way of a commisar i decided to convert one. my friend sold me a LOTR archer elf waaay back when and so i chopped that guy in half and glued a torso and pig iron head on him. initially i thought it looked kind of awkward but i think i like it now. i need some work for the cape and such, but the basic idea is there : ![]() ![]() ![]() and here's him with 15/20 conscripts ! ![]() hopefully i can buy the rest of my brother's IG and that way i'll have much more in the way of my standard rank n file, who are all gonna have those sweet pig iron heads :] cheers ! and let me know what you think :] -ant
