okay so you take an inquisitor (any configuration) and stick him with the following

3 acolytes, power armor, bolter, targeter, krak genades
69 pts

and any other henchmen you choose.

this gives him the acolyte special rules (taking wounds for him) which have a higher chance of saving those wounds and they also have a good fire output.

interesting. i've seen a similar configuration of acolytes where they have storm shields, which is nice too cause of their rules. and cool conversion opportunities too. hmmm...sad though, acolytes make for such great fluff lines, and yet they are better cannon fodder ! XD

yea seriously..like maybe make them more expensive, but with slightly better armor or weapons as standard. or maybe have some way to make them have psychic ability as well ? hmm..

Maybe nothing standard. But the wargear limit could be increased a bit. carapace armor as standard seems ok to me.

meh, im fine with my setup: inq w/ storm bolter, 3 HB servitors, sage

because they will almost never get into close combat, he doesnt need acolytes to be cannon fodder. the sage does that just fine....plus, people almost never shoot at my inquisitor, cause theyre too focused on the sisters or the LRC in their face.

the set up with stormshield acolytes is a good one for big gribbly hunting. 3 acolytes with storm shields, 3 combat servitors and an inqie with a thunder hammer. BOSH!! job done

alternatively give em storm bolters and add them to dan's squad for even more shots. throw in a mystic and put the hurt on those rubber hawks!

swooping hawks who use the skyleap exarch power every turn. they're like a rubber ball. boooiiinngg! ahem...sorry

basically they deepstrikes onto the table, bringing a large ordinance blast with them, and then use the skyleap power to remove themselves from the table before the enemy get a chance to shoot them. its incredable broke and utterly cheesy, but it's allowed.

On another note.. I eat Swooping Hawks for breakfast. But then again, high initiative and high quantities or power weapons + attacks = Deldar (Dead EldaR)

they can't 'sky leap' the turn they land... (they 'leap' in the movement phase and you only get 1 'movement'/turn!)


anyhoo, as for the acolyte meatshield, keep in mind that it does have it's drawback too! as the majority save is more likely to be 3+, you'll lose your more costly models that much sooner, plus you're putting your inquisitor lord/inquisitor at risk too if he has power armour! (that 4th hit *must* hit him if he still has a 3+ save!)

personally, i go for 1 or 2 power armoured acolytes, but i like to keep my majority save in the 4+ range - still get a save against basic weapons, but my killy, nasty inquisitor is good and safe!
