TC's... dare I say?... RADICALS LIST! *OMG-GASP-SURPRISE-SHOCK-OMG*

In 055.M42, a sudden Chaos cult uprising caused the Abocer system to go up in flames and tainted chants. Initial fears of daemonic incursion were subsided when the system - all 5 planets and 14 stations/moons/asteroids were systematically razed by Virus Bombs, on order of the Ordo Malleus of the Emperor's Holy Inquisition. But that was not the end, as those same fears were soon realised some 18 months later, in the neighboring system of Aruas. At first it seemed to be a rise in fanatical devotion to the Emperor on the primary hive Aruas Octus, but was quickly revealed to be a thinly veiled worship of the Gods of the Immaterium. Soon connections were lost.
One inquisitor, a radical named Deir Reyem was first to respond - or so you think. In actualy fact he's been under watch for some time now. Having attained Inquisitor Lordship only 4 years before, the rumor of his radicalism started. Coteaz, believing in the rumor, acted "slow" to respond to the new threat, instead letting Deir take the lead. It was a win-win-win situation thought Coteaz: If Deir killed the Enemy, the deed would be done and all will be well; If Deir was killed by the Enemy, that's one less radical to worry about; if Deir fell to the enemy, it'll be fun watching the Virus Torpedoes sail in their grim and yet short voyage from orbit to the surface of Aruas Octus.[list goes here:]

So yeah after making a fluff for the army (modded from old fluff of like 2 years ago) and threw together this list in about 10 minutes (lol really the only important things in there are the Daemonhosts and DC Assassins which I want to include for the fun of it)

Haha. I'll consider that.
The thing is, I wanted something shooty to take on, say, a drop pod SM army or deep striking daemons with the shooty inquisitor's free shots. (and the ability it confers onto 12'' units to do so instead of him.
Though I guess that's only for specific situations. I'll need a IG codex to work out points cost and upgrades for the Russ, so i'll look into it first.

well i just love DC assassins and daemonhosts, as you probably know from other threads

though ill be honest here - as cool-looking as they are, im not a fan of retinues. i think theyre far too expensive for what they are.

but thats just me!

honestly i'd drop the elite inquisitor and tool-out your lord's retinue for shooting... trust me, a S3/T3 IC sucks in assault! his retinue simply doesn't have any real staying power, mainly due to the mixed armour rules...
i usually try to keep a pair of acolytes on hand though as they're
a) very characterful!
b) dead handy for using as ablative wounds!
oh, and i must mention - your lord wants holocaust. there's really nothing like throwing out a pie-plate in the assault phase! and you don't even need to be in base-to-base to use it;P it's dead handy for breaking through say, the tau 'fish of fury' tactic!lol.

of corse, as you know i'm a huge fan of the culexus assassin and i recomend giving him a try simply for his psychological warfare potential!

i really think you should look into adding some inducted guard though... you'll find that storm troopers just can't cut it once they start coming under any kind of semi-concentrated fire, and the extra bodies from an infantry platoon can really help out! (not to mention their heavy weapons!!!)
oh, and be sure to check out WD287 for the radical wargear chapter approved article! it's nice to have some of the enemy's toys to play with too

And to have that Leman Russ, you must have two choices from the troops list of inducted Guard anyway, so there you go! Just grab a couple platoons, or perhaps some mechanized infantry.

hmmmm... it's still early, (i HATE mornings!) so could you please post an up-dated version of your list once you get the chance?! stitch wants to help, but gets confused very easily

also, what daemon weapon did you plump for? i've never tried any of 'em myself... i always have far too much fun reading from the books of pain!

And you kinda need troops, methinks. You have 375 points left for a 1500 pt. army, btw. I say just go for 3 10-man squads of ISTs and give some special weapons, and teleport homers, maybe. DW can teleport, don't forget...

hmm... im not fond of DW teleport scatter and the whole "lands on impassible or enemy and they are GONE" rule. i mean each guy is like 75 pts.
mmm im going for a 2k pts list here, so i'll probably get 2 IG, 1 russ and fill the rest with ISTs

+++ drop the scourging as the psycannon is much more reliable (and you can't use both in the same turn!)
holocaust makes for a very fun assault deterant, plus it's wonderful for laying the hurt on any 'fish of fury' tactics ('oh, was that 11 or all 12 fire warriors i just hit?!')
lose the plasma pistols on the acolytes too - with only BS3, they'll kill themselves more often than the enemy! either give them some storm bolters for yet more hot lead! or else tool them up with power armour and close combat weapons to act as cheap, ablative wounds for your lord!
a mystic is *highly* recomended in place of that familiar!!!+++

+++ well, as a codicer, you only get 1 power... i'd drop the artificer armour due to how mixed armour rules work, and just go for a basic cheap set-up; bolt pistol + halo & termie honours. imho, cheaper is better for loyalist marines!+++

+++ oh boy! drop at least half your vets! they can't assault the turn they land and with each model being so expensive, losing half to a round of enemy shooting is going to hurt! plus, the unit to simply too good at assault; they'll wipe out anything and then get pummeled by another round of shooting!
i'd get those 2 heavy bolters w/suspensor units too - it's just evil having "assault" heavy bolters!!!+++

for troops, i'd seriously consider some inducted guard as well your 2 mandetory units of inq stormies...
the guard will give you good numbers and added heavy weapons! don't forget that platoon command squads make great special weapon squads too... (3 plasma gunners and a medic is very effective!)
as for a russ, just outfit it with heavy bolters all 'round. you could even add-on a pintle stubber for even more fire power if 9 shots isn't enough for your tastes!

also consider a sentinel or two... again, for daemonhunters, the fact they can take lascannons makes them good, cheap tank-hunters. something daemonhunters generally lack!

helps quite a bit. The DW was more of a joke.
750pts of DEATH dropped on the table, use pod for shield and then move and assault next turn. totals some 4+1+1+D3 force weapons, 12 powerfists and 20 LC on th charge... ouch
As for the inquisitor lord, i mistook th sages for mystics, so i thought i had them in.
The DW: If i'm gonna shoot, i'll probably end up with a cheap librarian with more damage powers, 2 hvy bolters, 1 pf and 1 pw, and rest are normal guys with modded rounds (whicih ones should i take?)

Probably either the Metal Storm rounds, so you can assault and fire, or the Kraken rounds for the lower AP.

depends, if you're horrible at rolling dice like me, then go for the inferno rounds for the handy re-roll it affords, otherwise the kraken rounds are good fun! when combined with the move-and-shoot heavy b's, it's frightening to watch the sheer amount of ap4 fire power the squad can unleash! (tyranid and eldar players will no doubt hate you for it )
