if anyone knows anything and i mean anything about the alpha legion can you post it here? im thinking of starting a alpha leigon army and would like to know as much as possible. thanks

thats my biggest thing is the color scheme, i dont want it to light or to dark, and since im a bit color blind i dont like mixing.

Bit of background fluff from the Chaos Book: (obviously not word for word)

The Alpha Legion do not favour head on conflict, For example when they destroyed The Emperors Swords chapter, they planned it for many generations. They brainwashed potential recruits and then eventually when they attacked, they let rip with a pyschic barrage which "Flicked the Switch of the brainwashed recruits" causing them to attack their brethren.

IMHO, The Alpha Legion are awesome and if you can get them lookin good then it will be a fantastic army.

they really are an awesome army. in fact, i modelled my imperial marines' fluff on the alphas.
anyhow, another bit or two of fluff, they have a rather fluid sense of leadership, shifting weight of command quickly and easily, which is the explanation for their hydra [?] chapter icon
obviously they're also stealth masters, and frequently employ chaos cultists/chaos underlings to soak up the blood before they do the surgical strikes.

what's this new color scheme that everyone is talking about ? the midnight blue one ? personally i think they would look a lot better with just plan DA green, chaos black and some metals..

all i know about them is that they put their faith in their field commanders to out think the enemy and don't really rely on a centralised command.

and if you can pull off the latest paint scheme i'll buy you a beer

That is one of the nastiest combinations i have seen quite frankly. Incidentally, Did you know that Chaos Bikers with the Mark of Nugle have the same Toughness? =D

Alpha Legion hmm? Well, think the guerilla fighters of the space marines. These guys can be set up any sorts of ways. They use any and all tactics, and also have a huge network of cultists. To reflect their sneakiness in game terms, i would make sure to outfit the Elites as Chosen. Though Termies are also nice, if you are looking to follow more fluff, then the Chosen better represent the Alpha Legion's MO. Also, the Alpha Legion don't really care for demons, BUT will use them if called in by cultists. Finally, and this is a good idea, in IA5 they say you can model them as regular space marine models in Alpha legion colors. that would be a good fluff angle as well!

well just a typical battle brother im pretty sure i know the paint scheme i wanna do. may do a twist of some say a light dry brush of a loyalist legion colors to show the were in disguise. i dont really have the bits to do test painting tho.

the whole hydra deal is that since a hyda has many heads you can cut one off but the hydra still lives, thats the way there command works if some leader gets whacked the command structure is still intacked. and what i think is cool there primarch had a twin brother.

Really, he had a twin? I did not know that. Where did you find that tidbit? Dang, seems like Alpha Legion has you hooked on Chaos. Welcome to the dark side my friend! I think you might enjoy them more than the Nurgle stuff your working on. Seems you got a bit burned out on them. I really think you should make a few Cultists, even though they are no rules for them in the new dex. However, Alpha Legion my get its own codex, and I hope this happens. Most of the Undivided armies took a hard hit with the 4th ed. They are vanilla now, and that stinks.
