Default Basilisk.

Why did Iron Warriors lose the Basilisk? Being a siege army, they need arty!

bring a vindicator it has a big gun to. plus rumor is gw is trying to get away from multi-codex armies as it can be confusing to jump from one codex to the next for rule reasons. and in truth dk i think your sad that you used a bunch of chaos bits on a basilisk and now your mad you can't use it right.

I don't use IW anymore, and I traded off my Basilisk quite some time ago. I guess the Defiler could be used in an artillery role, but it can't fire indirectly. I just thought it fit IW to have mobile arty.

well i would be sad too if i found out that one of my 30 something dollar models wasn't usable anymore..the new chaos 'dex is nice and all, to have updated chaos, but i am pretty bummed that they've pretty much eliminated the minor legions [ie IW, alpha legion, and the bat dudes whose names i can't remember, lol]

they were night lords, and i had a word bearer army that now has crappy demons and a weak ass excuse for a greater demon. trust me, we all took a loss one way or another. i'm just giving dk crap. it's 3 am and i'm still at work and bored................is indirect fire really necessary in a chaos army??

Actually, Word Bearers could become very powerful with the upcoming Daemon Codex. And yes, IW should have an indirect fire weapon, such as mortars, artillery, flamers. Holy cow, Hellhounds would be good for IW. They need these type of weapons, being siege specialist.

Sounds like a good combo. Especially the IG heavy mortar vehicles.

I was very annoyed to loose my Bassiliskas I loved the model and it was great to see the fear on an opponents face when it rolled out (its one of those things that opponents get a real bee in their bonnet about)?

I was gonna sell it but then I decided to keep hold of it as in the future my Iron Warriors may (slim chance ) get there own list and a chance to get the artillery they deserve.

Its also got me thinking of some human allies for them-traitor guard and all the lovely artillery and tanks they bring Mwahahaha!

Good gosh don't sell it. Buy 2 more and use it for Apoc! Or buy 5 more or 7! With Traitor Guard, just imagine the possibilites!
