Chaos + Orks = Happy guy! - 40K Terra

Erus mentioned that alot of Chaos players will ally with Traitor guard for Apoc. I think he is right, and I'm having second thoughts on IG as allies. Considering I hate all things imperial, I really don't wanna go this route. I really like the Ork stuff coming out (and have always thought Ghazkul Thraka was one of the coolest models ever), so I'm thinking seriously about getting Orks for allies. Is this a good ideal?

Depends on what you`ll use the orks for?

Cheap as hell cannon fodder?

As chaos seems better than or on par with orks in many aspects

I wonder how flash gits would work though

As I know next to nothing about the Orks, I'll tell you what I'm looking for in an ally. I need a little long range firepower, some cheap but sturdy meatshields, and a little extra hard hitting fast attack. Any suggestions?

I really like the Killer Kans and Dreadnoughts. I hate the Chaos ones (that is until I get some Droppods, hehe) so I think these guys would be a good addition. Someone tell me more about them.

one basic ork boy costs 1 less then the lucky number :P

Their weapons are rather crappy unless you go for the bigger things

imagine the gloriousness of a Close Combat oriented Ork army allied with a Khorne Army...horde of Ork to tie up and punish the enemy whilst the Berzerkers and CSM with Mark of Khorne move up behind to deliver the crushing blow...........................think I've just found my next 2 armies, curse you GW!

Wakim something you have to understand:

baronspikey= brute force (i.e. terrible) general.

If i cant take the enemy head on then I lose, I'm as subtle as a half brick in a sock.
Ask Erus he'll confirm it from our matches on DOW

Mostly I planned on using the orks as good looking green meatshields (plus I like the new models), Chaos as the backbone of the force, and IG for some armoured and quite possibly shooty support. I'm thinking Macharius Vanquisher at the moment, but the vulcan mega bolter looks nice too.

Well, that was my point on orks as meat shields

80+ models in 500 points, they`ll die like a gold fish in a piranha tank

But they WILL be there to soak up damage

I`d take possesed/chosens/havocs/termies from chaos and heavy tanks from the good ol` guard
