Drach'nyen?????

Ok, I have a question about Abby's new rules. Does he still have mastery over Drach'nyen? Does the sword still ignore Inv. saves or is it basically a power sword?

its stats are coupled with the Talon- Daemon Weapon that doubles strength and re-rolls failed wounds

Abaddon doesn't ignore invulnerable save any more, as far as mastery...
The book implies (since it states that it is) that it is a daemon weapon, all be it and very unique one, but just a daemon weapon so I would assume he doesn't have any kind of mastery over it (it would/should state if he did). it clearly states that he roles just like anyone else to determine how many attacks it gives him so... don't roll a one

you are correct on both counts. the weapon(s) no longer ignores invulnerable saves and since it has nothing to state to the contrary, Abbadon now has to test for mastery.

note however that if he takes a wound, although he cannot take an armour save, he (as can any lord with a daemon weapon) can take an invulnerable save against the wound

Does the sword ignore Armour saves then? Man, I don't see why he has to roll for mastery, that sucks. I'm guessing it no longer penetrates vehicles either?

um.. I have to disagree on 1 count. Since drechnyyn is no coupled with the talon is says nothing about the normal dont roll a 1.

in fact in SMALL lettering at the bottom of it says simply and effiecntly

*Abaddon adds +d6 to his attack due to his demon weapon. not that his deamon weapon adds +2-6 attacks and on a 1 wounds him. just that he ads +d6.

I'd say he has mastery and ads +d6

Hmmm. I think your right Steve. It may be just wishful thinking, but I'd say he does't take a wound on a roll of one.

the actual wording for your standard Daemon weapon is that it add +D6 attacks, so i think the fine print at the bottom of Abaddon's rules is just for clarification that Drach'nyen only adds +D6 no more, no less. This suggests he would be wounded by a roll of 1- couldn't see any rule that countered this in his profile.
