Default It's 3 a.m. and I'm thinking way too much about Chaos!

Warning! Rant imminent! Right, so I'm thinking of some ideals that may just be a load of manure, but I gotta post them. Fluff monkeys help me out!

Is it possible that Abbadon is the BIOLOGICAL son of Horus? Why was he so enraged by Horus's death? Where is the body of Horus? Does Abbadon know? The EC legion took Horus's body after the assualt on Terra, correct? Was Bile there when they were trying to clone Horus? Abbadon killed the EC there didn't he? Why would he spare Bile? Maybe because Bile had something to do with the creation of the Primarchs? In some way Abby could be looking to resurrect Horus (biological dad?) and Bile is the only one who could do such a thing, maybe by using DNA from Horus's body? How old is Abbadon, and is he more powerful than Horus? Do the Chaos gods see him as the true master, and did Tzeetch have anything to do with Horus dying so Abbadon would turn completely to Chaos? How loyal was Abbadon to the Emperor? Is Abbadon angry that Horus abbadoned him and did that have anything with him renaming the Sons of Horus (again, this leans toward biological). Were the Primarchs even able to father biological children? Was the Emperor? Abbadon took part in the Great Crusade, correct? Right, I have more questions but thats all for now!

Woah. Well, I do know that (according to Index Astartes IV), Abaddon recovered the body from Terra, but the Emperor's Children did later steal it. Abaddon mounted a raid to get the body back, and then they burned it. Abaddon was the Captain of the 1st Company, so he definitely wasn't as powerful before the Heresy, but now, after the Seige of Terra, who knows.

I think you should get a copy of IA IV. It has lots of info on the Black Legion and a special section on Abaddon himself.

Bile had nothing to do with the creation of the primarches - he was too young, and also was on Chemos. his attempt was to unlock the secrets that led to the primarches. he is also one slippery character, so it was probable that abbadon didn't have the chance to get hold of him.

also abbadon was initially grief stricken at horus' death, it wasn't until he had had time to dwell that he got angry, and that in truth is probably because Horus showed remorse in his final moments and so went against the 'creed' he had taught his legion to follow.

as for Biologically descended, thats what GW hints at, but im not so sure. The Primarches seem to have been heavily influenced by their enviroment in their early years, so who isn't to say that rather than looking like him, he doesn't look like them?

abaddon worshipped horus like a father, hence outraged.
fabius bile probably offered abaddon his services as he could work wonders, and maybe even used horus body to enhance abaddon?
abaddon was around in the great crusade 31M, so he must be at least 10K years now, and im guessing most the main astartes around the time of the great crusade were roughly 100 or so?
i doubt he was more powerful than horus at the time of the GC, he was only first captain of horus legion. although i dare say that now, in the 41st M, hes probably more powerful than horus was.
hmm i doubt tzeentch had anything to do with it, just a mess up on horus' behalf ^^
abaddon served horus first, emperor second. so he had already turned traitor without a second thought when horus said to.
im guessing primarchs are like astartes in that they dont have...anything down there... to father a child ye know?
no idea about the emperor.

my two cents

Space Marines do have stuff down there, but the question is whether they can do anything with it. They have to produce testosterone because that's what regulates the implants they receive, which is why there are no female Space Marines.

However, even if they had/have the capacity to father a child, they wouldn't because they're Space Marines! They life a harsh, unforgiving, and celebate life. They really are warrior monks: they fight, and they pray, and that's it. No messing around with the Sisters of Battle or anything like that. They're so chemo- and psycho-indoctrinated that I doubt they would give it a thought.

As for Chaos Marines, perhaps Slaaneshi Marines might try it, but I still don't think it could really happen.

well, all space marines are 'fixed' in the sense that they can't father children... the processes used to raise them from human to space marine kinda kills all their 'drive'.

a sad fate of becoming a super-human killing machine!

cheers!

That, and the amount of drugs they take probably doesn't help them get it up.

Upon thinking about it, I like the idea of Abaddon enlisting the help of Bile to ressurect Horus. However, there is a quote by Abaddon: "Horus was weak. Horus was a fool." So I think that although he may have initially mourned, Abaddon eventually became stronger and got over it.

Saying that though, he did rename the Sons of Horus the "Black Legion" because of mourning and in shame, I think.

Here's the Wiki link.

Yes, but since the Primarch's bypassed all of that, would they not be able to father children and all. they were cast away by the forces of Chaos before birth. their tubes were breached and they were raised FAR away from the emperor.

IMO they would be able to father children. but would they have used that ability???

ah but then again the Primarchs were far more removed from humanity than the Astartes or even the Emperor. The Emperor at least was once a mortal man, admittedly an extremely powerful one, and the Space Marines all originate as humans. But the Primarchs were created in a lab, engineered to be perfect generals, leaders, heroes- the Emperor may have used his own genetic code to manufacture them but that doesn't mean they shared any similar traits with humans regarding the process of procreation.

the real answer to the question about cloning horus;

the inquisition made bile try it!

cheers!

when abbadon recovered horus's body, he utterly destroyed it and killed all of the attempted clones that bile had made.

he renamed them the black legion to spite horus and dissasociate themselves from him.

also bear in mind that with Horus dead, the power of Chaos was Abbadon's for the taking.

sure he had the other Primarches to worry about taking Horus' place, but Chaos hadn't chosen them as the leader of the chaos factions first time around, so that wasn't necessarily a big problem.

however, clone or not, were a Horus still around, Abbadon ran the risk of going back to being a subordinate

NO! I think I'd remember THAT sentence *hurriedly reads IA* phew. Luckily for the Marines castration was not a part of their 'ascension'.

Of that, my dear friend, there is no evidence (in fact, all evidence would suggest exactly the opposite).

It is one of those things that GW has never, and will never go into any detail on.

The Emperors origins are a mystery and will shall never be told, because no one knows.
