| Trooper ![]() | Well with my painting and converting going on at a snails pace (redoing my Iron Warriors and my Red Corsairs), I have let my mind wander too much and the idea of a mechanized Chaos army has entered my brain. Rhinos for every unit and all heavy support choices would be tanks. I was thinking of using bikers as Blitzkrieg attackers. But my real question is...Has anyone done this before and what are your general thoughts? Mobile Iron Warriors sounds just too cool, but if its going to fail in battle I would like to know now before I get committed.

| in apocalypse yes, but thats the only reason you should ever consider it for a chaos army. (probably the only legal too) it wouldn't work to well without infantry in a chaos army.

| it could work... but you'd have a very low model count. I've considered similar forces for normal space marines... and I think you could do it!

| Adeptus Primarch ![]() ![]() ![]() | with the way 5th edition is shaping up I imagine mechanised forces will become a lot more common. Because of 1 line 'any unit may use a dedicated transport as long as its transport restrictions are stuck to (i.e no termies in rhinos etc)' I'm paraphrasing there but hopefully that rule will make it into the rulebook. It would mean those precious rhinos could then taxi about any of your CSM squads, if there own rhino is destroyed? no worries 'Alpha Squad' will lend you theirs!

| Patron Saint of Leicester ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a fairly standard list which translated well to the new codex and I tailor to the game at hand, from 1500 points and up: HQ - Lord on Bike or Steed DP with Flight Elite - Terms (deepstrike) Chosen in Rhino (kitted for CC) Troops - 'Zerkers in Rhino (plenty o' plasma) More 'Zerkers in Rhino (ditto) Plague Marines in Rhino (blight grenades) Fast Attack - Bikers Raptors (more deepstriky goodness) Mo' Bikes or Raptors Heavies - Predator Annihilator Predator Annihilator Vindicator or Defiler No foot slogging, all are quick and most are deadly.

| The Witchhunter ![]() | with Chaos you are going to have a reletively low model count anyway, and as such any way of getting your units into a position to do what they do best that bit quicker is something to capitalise on. As HV says, they are a damned site cheaper now and so are more tempting.traditionally i have always gone mech where possible with chaos for the reasons stated, and i certainly do with the sisters! in the main it has worked for the better. another nasty trick with enough rhinos is to block off an area of the board so that you make your opponent go where you want him to go, so even if it is just for that the rhino can be very useful |

Blog Entries: 1 | Assuming you have 3 five man termie squads, they could be given 3 dedicated LR transports, and ya could have 3 more Heavy Support Land Raiders! Wow, how many points is that? Could be used for very large battles.

Blog Entries: 1 | Correct, only feasible for large battles. Replacing the HS LRs with basic Preds could save a lot of points.
