| Lord Commander Militant ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone here had any sort of experiance with Night Lords or any advice on how to model/paint/game with them. I primarily chose them to supplement my brother's rather gun-heavy stagnant Iron Warriors with some mobility and fast attack. I really do like the way they look and the sort of "too brutal for the Imperium" style fluff. I'm not focusing the army towards any sort of the Chaos gods just rather using them as evil Marines. | Corporal ![]() | well now, night lords is merely just another name for a chapter is it not? i mean, back in the old dex they had their own rules but now only the four main "heavy" per se (khorne berserkers, plague marines, 1k sons, noise marines) get special rules.so theers not actually a proper NL army now. as to tactics, im not sure, im assuming you wanna play fluff style? so im not sure on that either, but wernt night lords like a "fast" force, attacking at night etc, so theyd maybe use a good few raptors and stuff like that? sorry if this was actually no use to you lol, i just thought id contribute my little bit. ![]() thanx ^^

Blog Entries: 4 | Indeed. You could go heavy on Raptors and bikes, make sure all of your troops are mounted in rhinos, give your lord/sorceror a jump pack or a bike...

| good units for a heavily themed night lords force; - sorcerer and/or jump pack/winged lord w/pair of lightning claws - deep striking terminators - infiltrating chosen - mechanised chaos marines and/or marine squads without heavy weapons (ie: only 'mobile' move & shoot style units!) - raptors - bikes - mecanised havocs w/special weapons - predators - land raiders anyways, that's how i would limit myself to unit choice were i to do a nightlords army! ![]() cheers!

| The Witchhunter ![]() | i know i will be in the minority for this, but i also think that Possessed and Defilers can be fluffy. sure the possessed and defilers may be daemon infested which on the face of it isn't really 'night lordy', but they use chaos as a tool. also, game wise they are known for their speed and maneuvrebility, but fluffwise they are known for the terror they cause just as much, and in context, they aren't that many things more scary than a possessed marine and a defiler!

| ![]() some night lords marines do enter into daemonic pacts and allow themselves to be possessed. it's not in the religious sense like most other chaos marines who actively worship the dark gods; it's more so in the fact that possession is a quick way to attain greater individual power! cheers!

I should be able to take it from here now. I'll probably start a project log for this army when I start working on it heavily. Baron
