Dark Eldar - 40K Terra

I've heard that the Dark Eldar are to be redone and rereleased...now I haven't seen or heard anything to really make me beleive this. I figured I come to you my Brothers...anyone got the dirty dirty? BY TZZENCTH'S INFECTED TOE! Tell me if anyone has anything substaintial to this claim...

treu, ive seen romours that the next army after orks will be Dark Eldar. i guess we'll just have to wait and see what they do with them. a complete redesign and big background update seems likely

no more chris fitzpatrick nastiness, i hope!

so chaos, apocolypse stuff, then orks, then dark eldar? so, early 2050ish?
i want to do dark eldar, i love their fluff and everything, but theyre soooo oooldd. ill wait until after my eldar i guess.

They do deserve it-more than some of the races that have had a new codex....cough...Tau...cough..Chaos.

More importantly they really need some new miniatures-Ive never liked that whole Spandex and Spiky bits are us look....wrong wrong wrong

I was just on the DE thread section and was like, are they coming out 1?!?!?!

Whats the gossip? Any rumours?
Can anyone offer some insight into this?

I completely agree with Perturabo above. Im the same. Just give new models! :'( And il pick them up asap!

I read somewhere else it may be august/sept 09 before we see them :\

I know a little more... I was told Jes Goodwin has done them, yes apparently he's finished they just waiting their turn, I was also told that 5th Ed. caused a last minute change to release lists and SPace wolves where pushed back one 40k release slot for the Dark Eldar apparently... So after marines will mean christmas for Commoarah!

Just think you have a while. They have Dark Elves, Black Reach, Space Marines, LotR, Fantasy, Imperial Guard, LotR, Fantasy.

All of these correspond to a month of waiting and there are other miscellaneous releases that put further gaps in the core army releases. I wouldn't hold my breath and I'd take advantage of the things that are incredibly good about the current list before they go and fix everything.

I was told they swapped it all since the oldest books need done the most for the new edition the Dark Eldar amy is apparently very broken... I was told it was Marines, Dark Eldar, Space Wolves, Guard with usual parafinalia in between.

erm, october is the new space marine release actually, and it's been confirmed for quite a while now!-.- (your staff member in question is very misinformed!!!)

here's how it looks right now for the rest of the year:
- august: dark elves

- september: blackreach box & miscilanious releases. (ie: boss zagstruk?!?)

- october: codex: space marines, new plastic land raider, new plastic land speeder, metal sternguard/vanguard veterans, techmarine w/thunderfire cannon & 3 special character sculpts

- november: chaos mortals, new plastic chaos knights, new plastic chaos chariot, new plastic mounted marauders, metal character sculpts?!?

- december: christmas deals

after that? guard are pretty much done! just a few things to work out with the 'dex... new model rummors include the age old 'plastic greatcoats', while confirmed kits include the plastic valkyrie & re-cut leman russ which will include parts for the basic russ, demolisher & 1 other varient. (my money is on the exterminator!)
also out next year is the plastic stompa for apocalypse, and potentially a new baneblade varient which has turret vulcan mega bolter and can transport 40 guardsmen! (you can find it's datasheet in the new apoc reload book!)

dark eldar are a definate for next year, but i doubt it will be right away... also keep in mind that the other big releases for next year include;
- LotR elves. (including models for elven cavalry & chariots!)
- space puppies
- lizardmen
- beasts of chaos

Erm... on another point experiment brought up... I am sorry for the guard players but the Valkryie has been scrapped, our local manager was soo annoyed he wanted them for his guard.

similar to the problems encountered with the ork trukk kit... or the stompa (which is definately coming out next year btw!)

likely the sprue wouldn't mold properly or there were problems getting the kit to fit the sprue dimensions or similar... it's simply a 'back to the drawing board' senario.
the valkyrie just might not make it in time for codex release, but it will most definately happen eventually!

i'm excited for all the new releases, i don't think i'll play dark eldar, but i definitely wanna pick up a few models for fun conversions and painting something different!
