Default gamesday model

Is it just me, or does this model suck gutter water? The last model (2006) stank, but this thing positively reeks. Query: exactly how many ork players, especially fantasy ork players are out there? I for sure won't be attending Gamesday this year. $40 and a stupid model? What do you all think?

i have to agree that this year's model is a disgrace... it's nearly as ugly as the metal possessed chaos marines!

honestly, the one and only reason i attended games day canada last year was because a good was there...
unless there's a 40kterra canuck call to attend, i doubt i'll make the trip into TO this year.

cheers!

Good lord. That thing is just downright terrible. Aside from resale value as an 'exclusive model', I wouldn't pay $40 for it at gunpoint. If they were intending to capture any humour in that pose, they failed miserably.

I might buy the grot and stick it on someones' head, though....

That, and the "Warboss" behind him is not impressive. At all. I would fight him.

Barehanded.

I laughed upon reading this. I won't cry, but I might just say, "No thanks, I don't want it" upon their offering it to me when I get my ticket for this year.

The free models at the painting table will probably be better... I was pretty happy that they were giving out calculus logi at GD 2006. I'm using one for Rosenadel's retinue.

Im sure the model could actually be useful. There could be hundreds of uses for that little gretchin.

erm....you guys suck. you wont go to games day cause the model is terrible? i want to go to games day so bad! but my families at the beach that weekend. AAK!! and baltimore is the best one anyway.

but if you guys dont like the model you can always go to the modeling area (the place were they give you bitz to make a battle scene or something) and steal alot of bits. my friend, last year, took plastic sandwich bags and filled 10 of em with space marine bits and was able to build 5 tactical squads from all that. it was halarious.

The thing is, doing that is like smuggling CVS candy into a movie theatre - if you pull it off, thats very fine and dandy, but if you don't, its very awkward and could potentially cost you a $40 admission fee for nothing.

And i do not 'suck', by the way. I make incredibly sharp intakes of breath that MAY bring something in along with it, but it only stays in there if its potentially tasty.

well overall most of the games day models aren't that bad...
i really liked the following;
- black orc warboss (GD 2000 model?)
- space marine captain w/power fist
- kroot shaper (can't remember the year...)
- mortal chaos champion (GD '02)
- space wolf wolf priest (GD '03)

last years dwarf wasn't horrible, it simply isn't a practical pose for an actual gaming model!
the archaon on foot though has to rank as the all-time worst games day model, seeing as the mightiest everchosen is doing a massive face plant into his base!!!
(i can hear his challenge even now;
archaon: 'face me pathetic mortal and meet your doom!'
valten: 'what was that? i couldn't hear through your mouthfull of mud!')

sad, just plain sad...

cheers!

The dwarf isn't bad, but not impressive. I like my calculus logi, and my one lone gamesday Chaos Marine from the Painting Area at Atlanta, which I still have! But overall, I only rob Gamesday of scenery. And not that much at that. Just enough to flesh out the city my friends an I are building.

i would and about the people snicking food into theaters. we really dont care unless its something good like fast food. if your trying to take that in we will stop you and confiscate it and eat it ourselves.

however if your trying to sneak bags of candy and drinks in their its usually fine with us.

i would definetly take my big ole trench coat and load up on them free bitz.

Hmmm.Tench Coats, Bitz?
None of that, This is a Forum for all Ages.
Anyway, This sounds a good Idea.
First Games Day - Steal Models from Large Diorama. I mean, Look around
Second Games Day - Steal Bitz to make Models. Anyone know if they do Imperial Guard or Kroot at the Bitz Area? [Is from The Uk]

I mean, to be honest, they are giving them away, so, who cares.
Where, on the small print, does it say "Please, Do not steal all the Bitz from the Bitz Area, You will get thrown out", Cuz if it dont, im getting me from free stuff.

I built 3 adeptus custodes at GD baltimore last year... i only entered one in the contest and asked the guy, when i noticed everyone else was doing battle scenes, if there was a theme and he said no... then the judging came down to it and i was in the top three and i didnt win because i didn't have a "conflict"... (a fight for you who don't know what a conflict is) i was pretty POed...
