Default The "Lucky 13s" campaign

Events

I'm curious... since this new campaign has a one-year lifespan, I highly doubt they'd release 5th edition during the midst of it.

It's just not logical to remix the core rules during the middle of a campaign... it'd throw everything off.

And if 5th were coming out this year, since it'd be an incredible new release, it'd be the theme of Games Day... but instead the theme is this campaign.

So with this campaign we're basically guaranteed that 5th will not be out anytime between February and November of this year.

Thoughts?

hmmm... that is a good point you bring up, cir. although i'm not sure, i've heard rumors of 5th's release as being anywhere from mid-late summer to mid-late fall, and the latter one would fit perfectly: a short while after the lucky 13's is over, 5th would be released...just a thought though :]

Releasing 5th in November would be too early from the campaign's end. Even GW knows to spread out its events and releases properly, otherwise people will come to expect back-to-back updates and stuff.

And December is essentially winter, so... we've got a while to keep playing 4th edition. Yay.

Well, looks like we'll be waiting even longer for 5th Edition lads, unless we Brit's get it first seeing as it's a US only campaign.. *Grins*

Well the fact this campaign is US only means that I doubt it would push back 5th edition much if at all- if it really came down to it maybe GW would release it every where else and then let the ol' US of A catch up after they've finished this campaign (not likely I know).

But seriously nationwide campaigns happen a lot (well at least in the UK) though maybe not for a yr and it never seems to slow the release of codexes or anything else.

I wonder if this model will be worth a crap? I might participate just for it...

why introduce a new regiment
why not redo some of the older classics
like Tallarns, mordians, or even pretorians

The mordant were some bad ass guys that looted a planet after liberated it and are said to do more damage than the invader they were fighting but were never investigated because sympathetic superiors knew they incurred heavy losses.Their in the older guard codex and are mentioned somewhat in Imperial Armor 1.They look like Cadians strapped down with extra gear and equipment pouches full of stolen goods.I hope they direct something like the model their giving away.

Ok The model is a limited Sculpt which is also Painted by I forget who but a big name...anyway you have to do everything...Games day..All the local Games....The story...The Datasheet painting..buying a datasheet and painting it. Plus even if you don't win the mini... you still get a Warhammer Imperial Guard Patch for wherever.

better some hard knock bad asses then some guys that enter battle like goofballs.
(though I miss steel legion and Valhallans)
Its not like their making mordant models,Its just 1 reward model.

i know that but i think it would be better if they made more guard models
unless you spend a fortune on metal ones
the only choices are Cadians and catachans
im not a fan of either regiment
I guess what i really want then to do is release plastic Iron Guard
the mordians are my favorite regiment
