I hate this mini I think it is a really lazy one to stick in the appoc box set. We have new sexy bikes coming soon, so the shelf life of this mini is very limited, has everyone seen a pic of the new jetbike prototype?

calling it a prototype means that that may be nothing like the final product, or may in fact never go any further in the design process, leaving eldar players with the current jetbikes.

Not fond of the fact that there is still no reaper launcher for the jetbike and that new jetbike prototype is beautiful.

that jetbike is far too tasty. i'm really disappointed with (but not surprised by) GW for not getting it ready for the apoc box.

I'm fair confident that it (or something very similar) will be released at some point, I was just explaining that by calling it a concept model, GW were giving themselves the perfect safety net if the eldar jetbike doesn't get redone, after all that's the entire point in concept pieces, they are done to look at the possibilities (hence why car manufacturers regularily churn out one or two a year just to say "hey, we could make this kinda thing if we really wanted to").

you can't move-and-fire the reaper launcher as it's a heavy weapon though

anyways, i'm cheesed that the head is molded onto the body... the facial expression is just awful! sigh... looks like i'll still have to covert a 'proper' head - preferably one with those handy madiblasters so i can still claim the +1A bonus!

True to a point stitch, but mounting it on a jetbike and you "ALWAYS get to fire 1 weapon mounted on the jetbike"

the reaper launcher is not bike-mounted however... though, it can be argued either way as the rules don't specifically say if heavy weapons carried by the rider can be fired or not!

still though, as the model itself counts as moving, only the proper bike-mounted weaponry would count as stationary imho.

From the way you tell it, and it makes sense, the reaper launcher can not fire. So what other combo besides reaper would you suggest? My fiancee is wanting to build her Autarch soon, and she had it with mandiblasters, that fancy lance, jetbike, and reaper launcher.

mandiblasters + laser lance + fusion gun + jetbike = one space-elf army!!!

that's what my one autarch has, the other is;
- power toy, hawk wings & reaper launcher.
basically a mobile character hunter, or else use him to pick-off lone models or set-up a 'rapid fire bait' tactic...

the reaper launcher can ALWAYS fire.
the codex doesnt say if the weapons are bike mounted or char-mounted. the GW pictures of them show the fusion gun mounted on the bike.

the rules for jetbikes say that for each rider one gun can always shoot, no matter how far it moves (unless it turbo-boosts)

thats why i put a reaper launcher on to mine. my build is bike+mandiblasters+lance+reaper launcher. someone challenged me on that in a game and i showed them the rules for jetbikes. the red shirts backed me up, so i would say its OK
