Space Marine rumors - 40K Terra

Ok, here's some more rumors I picked up:

1: Space marines will be getting another tank, this time it's going to be in between the size of the Predator and Land Raider.

2: Scouts will be getting a land speeder transport craft

3: Drop pods supposedly released with Planetstrike

4: Chapter traits are gone, instead you must take Commanders in order to gain a trait.

5: Marines appear to be moving more towards fluff, becoming a faster strike force rather then a stand and slug it out army.

6: Land Raider Crusader becoming fully plastic

1. I dont believe that at all- I'm willing to apologise if I see any evidence stating otherwise but I still seriously doubt it.

2. Maybe, but another 1 I seriously doubt as it doesn't really fit with their background.

3. I've heard this else where so its the rumour I find most likely to be true.

4. I have heard that traits might be going out the window to be replaced by something else, so this might be a possibility.

5. hmm.....

6. Dont see why it couldn't but I imagine it wont come out for a good yr or 2 yet.

I think those changes would be cool. I havnt been in a Table Top battle yet, but what I have read in the fluff, Space Marines arnt slow, so them being faster would be nice, but would they lower there power then, maybe to balanc eit out? I like the traits idea, depends on your Commander. Land Raider Crusader, thank God it is going all plastic, is it me or am I not the only one that had trouble with the side Bolters. Another tank, why not, they have a decent amount of tanks, not as many as the IG, but that is what makes the IG the IG. Being to that Marines are like mini tanks themselves. Overall even though I did not bring any knowledge in my post but agreement on the topic, the rumors seem like it could be a good thing.

It has been mentioned in the fluff several times over the years that there is a missing STC pattern that fits in between the Rhino and the Landraider chassis-I wouldnt discount it (after all the Imperial guard got several new tanks recently)

I hope they come out with Drop Pods,and they are cheaper than FW.I have 5 FW ones for my LOD army and need more fore my wolves.I got really lucky and paid about half the price onthose 5,dont think it will hap again.

half price... wow... thats not really lucky... that is lucky to the point that you must have sacrificed your 1st born (or eldest sibling... or father...)

But yes, if drop pods ARE released in plastic, then I may just have to buy one... or ten.

I for one wouldn`t mind a big turret`ed vehicle for the marines.... that and a new launcher for the whirlwind which looks simply dumb

and a land speeder transport for scouts sounds a lot like this

interesting. i like the scout transport idea, and am excited to see this new tank that is rumored to be coming out. i know it's a rumor but it'd still be cool to see. the trait system changes are what i'm worried about, the rumor info obviously isn't complete or for sure set in stone, but the traits system and it's fluffiness are what really drew me to SM in the first place. we'll see how that goes :]

and yea, i've heard that the hurricane bolters on the sides of the LRC are a PAIN IN THE BUTT to glue up. yikes :|

the problem is that many of the traits were too good... others crap... and there was only one truly bad disadvantage... which no one took!

It was a feeble attempt by GW to make a list of traits for all the chapters they had forced onto one codex... but it didn't work as it was just abused.

firstly, what IG tanks are you referring to exactly? FW ones do not count as they are not in the codex.

secondly, I seriously doubt the missing STC will be "found", it's just one of those things that exist in the 40k-verse, like the two missing legions.

Also, codex SMs actually have MORE tanks than codex IG.

IG:
Leman Russ, Demolisher, Basilisk, Chimera

SM:
Rhino, Predator (2 patterns), Vindicator, Land Raider, Crusader, Land Speed (3 patterns), Drop Pods

thirdly, a Scout transport would be far more likely to be done by FW (if at all), GW already have trouble fitting the number of kits onto the shelves in stores - thats why the IG lost the Exterminator and Griffon Mortar tanks.

SBE: you forgot Hell hounds and Sentinels for the IG

Ok.. You can't really count a predator and variants, landspeeder variants, and land raider variants as separate tanks. If that is so, then every IG tank that has a different turret (all the chimera options) and all the leman russ patterns count, and IG are on top again.

You can't do it one way for one side and another for the other. Facts are facts, and IG have more tanks. You also forgot the hellhound, and if you are counting speeaders as tanks (they're not really) then we can count sentinels.

IG have the baneblade too.It may not be in the codex but its in plastic and is sold normally.
Not to mention Forgeworld pays most of its attention on IG.
