And it gets even better, the more they develop the IoM the less time they have for those silly tau!

a more reasonable example would be the standard 400 point Baneblade v a Combat Patrol force.

In which case it's 50-50, depends on how many meltaguns can be brought to bare.
Up that to 800 points and the odds go to the footmen:
I.E.
Havocs with 4 meltaguns + Chosen with meltaguns and melta charges. Plus two five man marine squads with a meltagun each.
That might be pushing the points barrier of 800, but you get my point.

Unfortunately as Yarrick is getting older he apparently needs a baneblade to be awsome. I still miss the days of 2nd edition where he was unkillable and would zzap you for no damage every turn. Age gets to everyone I guess.

Bolt Pistol and Power weapon. Yarrick doesn't even get a save from Schaffers pistol. And Schaffer is quick enough to dodge and shoot. And, IMO, has done more of the Emperors Dirty Work than Yarrick would consider soiling his bane-blade pampered hands with.

Get any Last Chancers novels! I only read Anihilation Squad just now, and I want to read more. First IG themed book I liked!

Go buy The Last Chancers trilogy book, its by Gav Thorpe and includes an intro short story (which once appeared in White Dwarf several years back) and another short story for in between the 1st and 2nd books.
I'm currently about 80% through Kill Team, which is book two in the trilogy.

strange thing is, i have the trilogy as both the individual books and the trilogy book, i never got round to reading 13th legion(which i bought in store), but I bought Kill Team and Annialation Squad from ebay for good prices. And then Black Library had that big £1/£3/£5/£10 stock clearance sale of theirs and IIRC Last Chancers trilogy was one of the ones I bought for £3.
Last Chancers is still in print tho i believe and if not you should still be able to find it in your local GW anyway, it was a very popular series and still sells.

haha yarrick, he only has one hand though...lol. for me though, i think yarrick is just plain cooler. sure, schaeffer does all the cool shooty shooty work and stuff, but yarrick has the big pointy claw thingy...and the fortress of arrogance. and whoever [wakim?] said that GW would spend less time on tau cause of something [i don't remember what], rejoice ! sucky tau :P haha

Thing is.. Yarrick is an amazing commander, and has an awesome bionic... But.. Think about it... One on one, toe to toe... Schaeffer, for sheer reasoning of havign a frigging bolt pistol, would blow Yarrick to bits.
