| Refrence: This pertains to the top of page 18 (Allies) and the "Allies Matrix" on 198 of the Apocalypse Rules Book. Hey folks, My friends and I were wondering how to interpret some of the rules on the pages mentioned above. It seems SquatComando wanted to use IG with his Black Templar in an Apocalypse game, I said I was not aware this was feasable, but he showed me the Allies Matrix and said that it was. I looked at the chart, and the Allies note on page 18 and we concluded that not only was this possible but, perhaps you could ally any force in the game into a single army? This seems very odd as Daemons and Daemonhunters could play together under one player? Harlequin squads and a Witchhunter could be in the same force? ![]() Who do we KILL?!? This is causing a bit of comotion as it upsets our knowledge of how the game is balanced, if anyone is more understanding of how these rules work we would appreciate an explanation! Thanks alot guys! |

| Corporal ![]() | well if your opponent says yes you can use anything as allies. As for DH with daemons say that they're "fallen" DH or something. Maybe the WH and Harlequins think that the current opponet (idk orks maybe?) is more of a threat and have an agreement. Just some things I made up in 5 sec

| Trooper ![]() | Technically, yes. You can use whatever armies together you want. You could use units from every army into one mega army if you wanted to. However, apocalypse is meant to be very narrative driven, and I doubt you'd be able to justify using those things together. It's very unfluffy :P If you're just having a friendly game with your mates though, you CAN do it as long as no one else has a problem with it. The ally matrix basically gives tells you how hard your imagination is going to have to work coming up with ways to have them fight together. For instance, Eldar and orks have a dark marker signifying they'd probably never ally. However, you could represent this in a different way. You could take some inspiration from dawn of war and say that the eldar lured the orks into a position where the battle was going to take place. Then, use say the "flank charge" strategic asset to represent orks entering the battle from behind the enemy as they heard all the fighting and were eager to jump in. |

a) the daemonhunting inquisitor in question is a radical who's gone one step too far! he's now become the very thing his ordo combats. of corse, he's led his 'loyal' minions into damnation with him! codex: daemonhunter unit you couldn't use no matter what: grey knights b) the witch hunter/s in question are pursuing their own agenda in regards to a local uprising. the mysterious harlequins show up for their own reasons, but haven begun to attack the witch hunter's enemies! or, perhaps the harlequins have shown in response to a much darker and greater threat which the witch hunters have yet to truely discover?! the harlies will fight alongside the emperor's servents because to allow the true enemy to prevail will bring about some future catastroph which would be even more disasterous than the current situation! basically, you need to come up with a plot hook... look through the 'hunter codicies for ideas for narrative plot hooks in the 'daemon/witch hunters would fight army X because...' pages! cheers!
