Basilisks - 40K Terra

Hey folks,

Something that has been bugging me for a long time is Basilisks, my friend uses them and he says they use "Earthshaker rounds" but I thought they had two different types of ammunition. A lesser and a greater type?

Maybe I'm mixed up on some type of fluff but I heard that the Earthshaker rounds (or at least some sort of amazing ammunition) for basilisks were made on Mars or something and were quite a rare thing to have to be blasting off every shooting phase.

I don't know, possibly there is only one type of ammo, but could someone clarify this situation?

lol don't worry, it's easy to get mixed up with all those big guns; perhaps you were thinking of the SM whirlwind, which does have 2 types of ammo [only one can be used per game, of course !]

Earthshaker cannon
its not a round but a weapon

The Earthshaker Cannon shoots Earth Shaker rounds. It can probably, in fluff, shoot several other types of shells, like frag, anti-tank, and incendiary shells.

lol. now that i think about it...doesn't FW sell different earthshaker shell types ? it doesn't matter though, in 40k terms i don't think it makes a difference, it's just the earthshaker round :]

as wolfie already hinted at, in 2nd ed the lisk had the choice of a normal shell or an ''earthshaker round'' for bunker cracking. now days it only has the one type of shell, and the earthshaker shell is only in DoW.
