| Ok the black templar Zeal Charge is a confusing thing ! when does it happen because in the book it says as soon as it takes a casuality but in the rule book moral checks are taken at the end of the shooting phase 2 if it's taken as soon as they take the casuality can they charge more than once. It's the question we can't work out in a white dwaf battle report against the Eldar they charge then another squad shoots so can you please help CHEERS ![]() |

| They only take the test at the end of the phase and only once. It is just that they have to test even if only one member of the squad dies in stead of a full 25%. It's a mistake I've seen people make before.

| welcome to the truth that gw writes horribly confusing rules on a regular basis! anyways, as pointed out, you test at the end of the shooting phase as normal. templars simply must take a moral check if a unit suffers any casulties! (even just 1!) note too that only your infantry units need take this test. (jump units for example are excluded, as would be bike squads - they move fast enough as it is!) basically, templar infantry units don't take a moral check for suffering 25%+ casulties in the shooting phase. you take a rightous zeal test instead. if you pass, you run towards the nearest visable enemy unit. if you fail, then you fallback as normal. cheers!

| OH! I was also confused about this. But if you pass your morale save you MUST move the guys? is like compulsory at the end of the shooting phase? And if they fail they run as if they were shoot at 25% of casualties? that makes righteous zeal more like a terrible flaw. Maybe i´m still confused about the ability, could somebody give me an example or explanation please. Thanks in advance ![]()

so for example, say a templar unit took 2 casulties & passed their RZ test; a) the enemy unit you'd like to run towards is 18" right in front of you b) however, there's a land speeder that's only 13" away from to your unit's left flank. therefore, you're running towards that land speeder as it's within sight & is the closest target! ![]() now if you fail your RZ check, then you simply fall back as normal before regrouping as per the 'and they shall know no fear' USR. hope this helps, cheers!
