Default Contributers

I just played a battle yesterday, and my friends and I could'nt make a decision on the contributers rule. One part of the rulebook states any model withing 2in. of a friendly model in base to base with an enemy gets to fight with their full compliment of attacks, using all the special rules for Powertoys, fists, ect. Another part says they only get one attack with their basic stat line. Could someone please help with this?

They get their full compliment of attacks... That is how I had always played it... I can't give you an official start point or such, I just know that is how it works around here.

Yeah, I thought that was how it worked, but we both read in the rulebook about the 1 attack. I'll borrow my friend's rulebook and see if I can find where that was. I mean, how hard is it for GW to make a coherent rulebook? Don't they have guys they pay just for this? It kinda angers me that the rulebook and codices are so.... jumbled I guess is the word. Anywho, thanks for the help LC.

It is the same here. As long as they are within two inches of the fight then the models in question get their full attacks, including any special weapons/rules they might have.

Do contributers get the +1 attack for charging?

ok maybe I'm not reading this right but...

You have a squad that is charging/being charged...when you are talking about contributors are you talking from the same squad or from another squad that is within two inches...

If you are refering to models in the same squad then everything in that squad within two inches of the point of contact (where the two opposing squads make base to base contact after the assault move) is considered charging and gets their full attacks as well as the +1 charge bonus...the 'back rank' rule applies after initial HtH and counts for those squad models that cannot make a wrap move and are stuck in the melee in the rear rank...where they only get 1 attack at their base stat line...also known as lending attacks...

So contributers get their full amount of attacks for only the during the initial CC round? After that they get one basic attack? Am I correct on this wolfie?

So Many Rules To Remember, So Hard To Find The Answers In The Rulebook...

this comes from the bbb page 38...

" the following models in a locked unit are said to be engaged in combat and can fight at full effect;
-models in base to base contact with an enemy model
-models within 2" of a friendly model of the same unit, which is itself in base to base contact with an enemy model

all engaged models fight with their full number of attacks and count the benefits of any special close combat attack forms they might have..."

so anyone in b2b with the enemy, or anyone within 2" of a friendly model from the same unit who's in b2b get to fight at full effeciency at all times, counting charge bonus's if they charged. if they don't fall into either of these categories then they don't fight at all. after the assult phase is over any survivors must pile in.
