Blog Entries: 1 | I was writing a list for my Penitent Knights chapter and I came across a curious thing- a Command Squad can (for Xpts) take a veteran skill of either Tank Hunters, Furious Charge, or Infiltrate for each marine. But if the entire army has traits which allows a skill to be taken by the command squad (Trust Your Battle Brothers being the one im struggling with) does that mean you can efffectively have Counter-Attack, True Grit AND Furious Charge/etc. Of course this scenario could apply to almost any squad- Devastators with Infiltrate and Tank Hunters anyone? Anyway- 2 skills? loop hole in the rules or intended?

| Trooper ![]() | It seems like it must have been intended, hell, there's a Trait which gives you two skills. I don't see any foul play here. Although, said Tank Hunting, Infiltrating Devastators will be an awfully large points sink...

| Banned | im pretty sure its intended, though its hardly gonna for cheap. my own Angels of Censure command squad has furious charge and true grit, and are lead by a chaplain and has the full compliment of power weapons/fists. theyre pretty good in combat (on the charge mostly, but the true grit makes then goot at receiving too), but them + their LRc are pretty expensive.... i like them though! i think its cool that squads in certain armies can hae two skills, but what with current army trends i wouldnt expect skills to be a major part of the next SM codex, whenever its made (unfortunately) |

| a unit can have as many skills as you have traits that allow them... you simply can't take a skill more than once obviously! so for example, you can't give an assault squad furious assault via the 'blessed be the warriors' trait, and then give it to them again via the 'no mercy, no respite' trait for a double bonus... keep in mind too that for the past few years, chaos players have had the same option in regards to their skills! (actually, provided they're not marked in any way, chaos marine units can have every skill if you really want!) so no, i feel that the multiple skills is indeed intended. it's just horribly expensive adding a +40% increase to the cost of every marine in those squads! cheers!
