IG Heavy Weapons teams

A real fast simple question.

If one of the two cadians in the heavy weapons teams dies can it still fire? And if they can what if the Heavy weapons team is in a heavy support team?

I have always just replaced the team with just one guy and got rid of the gun. I was just curios of what to actually do.

i forget where i read this but supposedly in your two man team one fires the big gun and the other is a loader. however if you so choose you can fire the 2 lasguns instead. now if one dies they still fire the heavy weapon as normal. if both die then the weapon and team are taken out.

yep you have to kill both team members to silence the gun. incedently, in heavy weapons squads you can remove all of the "loaders" first, so it will take 4 casualties before the first gun is removed.

Can you please post a page number were this is still valid? Every game I play in my area I keep getting told that they count as multiple wound models. So if in a 3 gun squad, if you suffer 3 wounds, you would have to remove 1 whole gun, and another would be reduced to 1 wound.

you'll find the info you want here in the errata

the bit you want is the 2 sentances just above the miscellaneous heading, which i'll repeat here for convenience;

"heavy weapons teams are supplied with a large base to contain both crewmen and weapon. treat them as two seperate models that are based together for convenience of movement."

this tells us that there 6 single wound models in a heavy weapons squad and not 3 multi-wound models.
