the title really exaplains it all

Bit O confusion if it's on base toughness or not!

well the entry for resilience says that it does not affect his toughness for calculating instant death. the stature entry says nothing of the sort, which leaves the way open for debate in true gw style.

now i'm fairly certain that i've read something confirming that the +1 toughness for being statured does affect instakills, meaning you'd need s 10 to k.o a prince, but i'll be damned if i can find the reference at the mo. i'll search around and let y'all know if i find anything, although the new dex will make this whole question kinda moot

Stature does affect instant death on a prince, at least that was how it was ruled last time I was w/ a friend at a tourney. Only for 3 more weeks though.

i know it's a moot point as the new dex handles it with eternal warrior (no insta) and straight up T-6 to start with greaters, still would be nice to know.

i'm gonna disagree with Erus as stature is a gift and pg 27 of the rule book tells us that gifts won't prevent instant death, nor does stature say (like pg 27) that it now prevents i.d.

another thing to consider, why would they have ever made Rune of Chaos, when all you'd have to do is get resilliance and stature

well anyways

That was always my point as well. Not saying I agreed, I don't play it as such. But it is what I heard from a tourney official.

d.stature raises your base T and thus is counted for instant death purposes! (later printing should mention it, but the 1st & 2nd don't IIRC...)

d.resilance does not change your base T however and thus has no affect on stopping instant death.

so a daemon prince w/stature & resilance has a T6/5 stat. all attacks will wound against the T6, but when calculating instant death, the base T5 is used!

cheers!

Yeah if I remember right the rule is written at the very end of the wargear section before the armylist. It is wrapped around onto the top of the next page though so i've seen people miss it before. Give it a look I don't have my 'dexes in this country.

no problem mate!

of corse, the real irony here is that come sept 15th, the 'instant death!' rule won't apply anymore to any daemon prince!lol. (though of corse, you can still be killed outright by things like force weapons...)

cheers!

the new daemon prince has a specific rule stating that hes immune to instant deathy, which will replace the current codex in a few weeks
