Marine Company Standard Bearer Rule - Counterattack

The Marine Company Standard Bearer (and the squad he is attached to) gains the Counter-Attack ability if any unit charges into the Squad containing the Company standard.....now.....Counter-Attack counts as charging without the +1 attack bonus.....however.....if the squad is upgraded with Furious Charge....does the +1 S/+1 I bonus come into effect?

I have argued that it does....as Counter-Attack is a "Charging Movement". Once the closest enemy model (single or squad) charges into the Command Squad, no other enemy models move into base to base contact....the Marine Command Squad then Counter-Attacks and moves all models into base to base with the enemy....

Yes, the enemy squad retains their bonus characteristics on the charge.....but does the Command Squad gain the Furious Charge Bonus?

that is an interesting way of interpreting thatrule
im not a rules lawyer but i think its only when you initiate the charge does furious charge apply

but i dont see why that wouldnt apply
let me consult my rule book and see

Through experiance, you gain Furious attack, On the charge, not when being charged. and the mdoels that counter attack, count as 'counter attacking' and not chargeing.
nice idea you have there, and i would LOVE it to actually work, but not one that does however.

only the most stringent of rules-lwayers wuld interpret the rule that way. counter charge is not an assault, therefore, furious charge will not work

counter-assault is treated in a similar way to a 'sweeping advance'. (ie: using a massacre or consolodation move into an fresh enemy unit)
you don't count as 'charging into assault' and thus anything that gives you benifits for 'charging into assault' have no effect... so no +1A, furious charge, etc...

I had this same question about this a while back.The way i was told is,If your charged you can counter attack all you are doing is jumping forwrd to meet the charge so you can get as many models into CC wiyh no +1{you didn't charge}.
