Default mixed armour saves

ok as a Black Templar player this is an often used rule ,but i still am not sure on the rule as to removing models ,so please help!!!

ok example

i have a crusader squad made up of 8 initiates
and 3 neyopites and i take 4 wounds .

now i make 3 saves at 3+ as this is the majority save, but i fail 1 save meaning i have to lose a model .
now beacuse i made the saves using the initaites save as the rules state, do i have to remove an initiate or can i remove a neopyite

i am not sure so anyhelp will be good.

casulties must always be removed from the models which failed their own saves! so in your example, you would lose 1 initiate.

don't worry, things will get real fun when the squad goes down to say 3 initiates and 2 neophytes and they come under fire from say a grey knight squad with 2 psycannons

cheers!

in the book about mixed saves, it says that you roll on the majority save, and take it away from the models with the majority.

not exactly! you only apply hits to the majority save untill each of them has taken 1 'wound', then you apply any remaining 'wounds' to the next majority save and so forth untill each model in the unit has taken a 'wound' - only then can you apply any additional 'wounds' to the 1st majority save again!

for example; a crusader squad of 6 initiates, 3 neophytes and the emperor's champion come under fire and take a total of 12 wounds.
- the 6 initiates take the first six 'wounds' as they are in the majority.
- the 3 neophytes now each take a 'wound' as they are the 2nd majority.
- finally, the emperor's champion takes a 'wound'.
- the last 2 wounds wrap around back onto the initiates as they are the majority save!
so in total, the initiates must take 8 saves at 3+, the neophytes make 3 saves at 4+ and the emperor's champion makes a single save at 2+

confusing i know that's half the fun of the templars!lol

cheers!
