Default Moving and Shooting Rapid Fire Weapon

For instance, if I have a LRC, and I move, can I shoot? Pretty straightforward question really.

yes it is and yes you can. vehicles count as stationary for shooting purposes so the vehicle may shoot the bolters once at 24" or twice at 12"

You can always fire the bolters and I think if you move under 12" you can use the power of the machine spirit to fire another weapon, but I dont have the rule book handy.

great! And while we're on the subject, is this the same with Chaos termies, heck, even SM termies (I heard that CSM termies can't move and shoot their twin-linked bolters).

if in the rules for termie armour it states that the models wearing it always count as stationary, than yes - terminators can move and still fire heavy weapons/rapid fire weapons.

the chaos termies is a bit trickier due to the numerous printings of the codex! (we're onto the 4th printing for those of you who are counting) some people will argue you can't fire your combi-bolters and assault - check the inside credits page to see which printing you have... hopefully the later printings have addressed this issue.
however, keep in mind that models may always rapid fire anyways now!

cheers!

i asked the red shirts on this issue, and they said that yes, termies (both kinds) can always move and shoot rapid fire and heavy weapons, and then charge if they havent shot heavy weapons.

well, they're partly right! termies can move and fire heavy weapons and/or rapid fire weapons.
as explained in the "note" on pg36 BBB, termies may also assault even if they fire heavy/rapid fire weapons as they always count as stationary!

cheers!

it's a tricky one because the answer is somewhat hidden!
you'd of thunk that instead of squishing the rule between two paragraphs under the "Shooting and Assaulting" header, they would have simply put it right at the bottom in nice bold print so it would be a helluva lot easier to find!!!

but then, we are talking about gw here

cheers!
