|  Question about fire access. Ok this is 2 questions. 1 the one fire access on the rhino is the other hatch if you put a strom bolter on both hatches can you still use the fire point. 2. According to Lord Commandar Erus the fire point could be the top and half the squad can fire which I have never heard of. He says it is in the BBB it is not in my small book so I was wondering if its in the bigger one or is Commandar Erus mistaken?

Blog Entries: 1 | ok i have the bbb and sm dex in front of me now and, let me see... well the dex entry for a rhino says that up to two passengers may fire from the top hatch (pg 35 c:sm), which incidently isn't the little round one but the big rectangular one. also the dex says that the pintel mount is fired by the crew and makes no mention of loosing a fire point to use it (pg25,c:sm). as for half the unit being able to fire from one fire point, i can't find anything to back this up. this is taken from pg 64 of the bbb (and should be on the same page of the small book); "...all of the models aboard an open topped vehicle can fire. troops on a closed top vehicle, however, can only fire from designated fire points". there is no mention of pintel weaponary negating fire points. so in the case of the rhino thats two firers from the top hatch, plus the integral storm bolter, plus the pintel mount if the vehicle has one that are able to fire in any turn that the transport is eligable to fire. ie didn't move more than 6", isn't shaken of stunned etc. hope that helped to clear things up a bit.

   | I stand corrected...it has been changed from the half squad to the newer 2 man firing point...(I really miss the 3rd edition vehicle rules...) and concur after double checking it with Hairy...two men can fire from the troop hatch and the front hatches are for the driver and commander...so that gives two storm bolters (if you take the Pintle upgrade) and the two men from the troop hatch...so yes in the end your special weapons may fire...NOT your heavies as they are still considered moving...
