extra point of toughness ability to move 24" that gives them a invunrable save the same as their regular save what's not to love

Yes, if used correctly they have uses, but personally, I'm getting landspeeders.

yeah, bikes can be used to great effect, if you know what you're doing. although not specialized assault units, they can tip the balance if you charge them into combat. They're tough to kill in combat, and that provides your opponent quite a dilemma. Its almost not smart to not include an attack bike, as then they can have a definite roll. Anti-infantry, or the more preferred anti-tank role, whichever one you need, they can fulfill. Try em out, you'll most likely like them

I also prefer landspeeders over bikes, especially since most GW rulings is that you DONT get the inv save against the 2 "inv save ignoring" attacks. however if you find the staffer that says you do, kudos and lucky to you.

ive had relative success with a tank hunting squad of bikes with melta bombs, 2 melta guns and a multi melta attack bike. they almost always make up their points every game. I comcentrate on vehicles (doh) shooting side armour and smal lelite units like termies and battle suits, hoping to reduce them to half strength and if at all possible, destroy them.

im thinking of making an all bike army with two such squads, 4 full-man bike squads with attached HB attack bikes and a librarian leader, though im still sceptical that an all bike army is any good. though itll look cool!
