Storm Bolter and Multi-Melta?

Can the Land Raider Crusader be armed with both a Pintle Mounted Storm Bolter and its Multi Melta? It states in its upgrade section that the LRC may take a PMSB. Does that replace the MM? Can it take both? The LRC has two cupolas...

then i'd say it can take two pintle mounts.

yep, it can take both. however, the peices for making the PMSB are used in the multi-melta, so you will need the parts for it from another imperial vehicle sprue.

i would say though that if 12 twin linked bolters, a twin linked assault cannon and a multi melta don't do enough damage to the target unit, paying those extra points for a storm bolter isn't really points well spent.

considering the high pts cost of the crusader, that pintle-storm bolter will still count towards avoiding additonal 'weapon destroyed/immobilised' results as it's a S4 gun and thus counts as an additional 'defensive weapon'! (even if your crusader has no guns, as long as it's still mobile then it's still a scoring unit, so it basically buying an extra 'weapon destroyed' result your opponent needs to get through...)

and it's only 6 twin-linked bolters total between the sponsons! mind you, i highly doubt many space marine players would complain if they up'ed it to 12?!!LOL

While we're on the subject... If the tank is within 12" of a unit.. Can the bolters not 'rapid fire'?

note to self: this is the 3rd time you have doubled the number of twin linked bolters on a crusader. learn that it is 6 total before krom gets his crusader feilded or you will be sorry!

don't you wish it were so!

IIRC, you cannot chose to avoid rapid fire anymore... if you're within 12" and shoot a rapid fire type weapon, you fire both shots. (so as to stop people from trying to save their plasma gunners by choosing only 1 shot against non-meq enemies!)

Where does it say that? The rapid fire entry in the BBB says you 'may' choose to. If that's the case, then pistoleers have do so as well...
